I couldn't imagine watching football and stuff like that happening. Seems mental. And it's not even that long ago.

Well it is nearly 50 years ago but football was a proper game back in the 70's. Saturday 3pm KO's for nearly all matches apart from the midweek fixtures. Loud singing from the terraces. Teams playing on mudbath pitches. Players showing true commitment and a desire to win without moaning about too many games, even though they weren't earning excessively more than the average working man.

Halcyon days.

RIP Sir Bobby. The Munich Air Disaster, the World Cup win, the 1968 European Cup final (scoring two goals)...the man experienced so much.

Now only Hurst remains of the class of '66.

Micky Bates

Leicester City fan & model maker extraordinaire passed away yesterday.

Micky, who only had the use of one arm after a stroke a couple of decades ago made the model of Filbert Street on display at the club & countless others of Leicester City & Nuneaton Borough & was also a leading light on Bentleys Roof forum.

R.I.P. Micky.
