More balanced than i thought - second question is a bit misleading - of course the manager would go ahead of the owners, be interesting to see if there was another more nuanced option

Both equally share the blame. Poor investment since Brendans arrival has crippled us, how much of an influence he actually had over that will be unknown… but he still oversaw the majority of it. The squad he took over was quality, it’s now defended into a complete farce.

What happens behind the scenes stays there in reality, we get snippets of Information but we don’t really know how the club operates when it comes to finances, but it would appear there has been a cock up which has resulted in the situation we find ourselves in.

However, Brendan is the manager…. He is the coach, he is the man who is supposed to get the lads going. He can’t use the excuse of injuries and lack of investment. He HAS been backed, and it’s not worked… actual net spend should not be taken literally as the one thing we are good at is getting big fees for our star players.

In terms of injuries can Brendan be blamed? We don’t know what the intensity is like in training, but when it comes to injuries again it will be a collective thing with all of the medical teams. It may not be anyone’s fault, perhaps we’ve just recruited fragile players.

But ultimately what does coke down to Brendan is the squad and its performance. He alone is in control of that, and he alone has failed to get the very basics right this season. It’s got to the point now where he has given up fighting in my opinion, he isn’t even defending himself anymore, he has just given up, and I think he is fed up. One person seems to be standing in his way from what we have been told, whoever that is needs to think long and hard about what the next few days mean. Regardless of the result at the weekend Rodgers is done here, he HAS to go, if he is still here on Saturday, it will be a blood bath.

I tell you what, there's been plenty of fingers pointed at both BR and the owners (not saying that there shouldn't be by the way) BUT - Rudkin and Whelan essentially run the club and are responsible for transfers etc. A lot of our issues are down to the size of the contracts to players/manager who really should not have such huge  contracts. So I would add another option and put Rudkin/Whelan there! I would vote for them to go first.

I voted neither for both questions. For me I’m not sure blame is that useful. Blame doesn’t move us nearer to where we need to be. Blame on its own is just toxic. We have to face the facts that money and FFP are severely restricting/blocking us currently. That blockage will shift in the summer. Hopefully we’ll still be a Premier League side. This is a cyclical thing after some brilliant achievement. It’s very difficult to transition from being a mid table side doing well to being a regular European qualifier. Even harder to transition back with a dip in form. It can take the wheels off. We need to understand and have more empathy for how hard that is.

The responsibility of our transfer situation lies with the owners and someone needs to be held accountable for the mess we currently find ourselves in.

The playing side of things lies with Rodgers. It's his job to work with what he has at his disposal and get the best out of them.

In my opinion publicly slagging them off doesn't help him to achieve that.

He has been here a fair while now and things seem to have gone stale.

I think a new manager with fresh ideas/tactics will do the side the world of good.

Rodgers and Rudkin need to go and whoever signed off on the crazy contracts we've been handing out which has resulted in crippling overspend on wages (finance director?)

I don't think £200m investment since Rodgers is bad, just realistic. The fact that it's made from sale of players is the reality for us and most clubs outside of the oil barons.

It's how the money was reinvested that was the problem. If you expect our owners to spend multimillions of their own money then you'll be mightily disappointed as they've never said they would and they should they.

The first question is who is MOST responsible but has option of both.

I voted the owners (or Top really) but Rodgers and the staff also have to take some responsibility imo.

I would like to see Rodgers replaced first as I think we could get a manager bounce, but seems to me we're a rudderless ship at present, I think we maybe just an inconvenience to Top but he may be torn about moving on due to it being his dad's legacy

Both. BR is nailed on to go. Billionaire owners haven't or won't sack him.

Too many unknowns with the club right now, from top down and with the clubs premier league longevity on a knife edge. Poor state of affairs all round.

Rodgers is partly to blame but owners are main reason behind our current predicament. There have been multiple opportunities to sack Rodgers, either through the string of losses, constant poor performances as well as his questioning of the hierarchy yet he is still in employment.

on top of this, uncertainty over financial stability and funds available is damning.

I have blamed the owners since the Fofana sell. Not the fact he left rather the investment from the funds we got from him. We have been told by Top himself that the club is stable yet we still have no idea why we can’t spend the Fofana money and that for me was very disappointing

Rodgers is obviously responsible for performances and results.

Board are responsible for letting all this happen. We're in a position where we could go down. We let a goalkeeper go without replacing him, even though he was coming to the end of his time here anyway they should have been looking. Our recruitment has been poor and we've sold a couple of good players in the meantime. People can bang on about profit but that doesn't win you games, unless it's reinvested in good players which ours hasn't been. Contract situation is poor.

Whoever handles recruitment and contracts needs to go. It's to easy for players to come and pick up a good wage for doing fvck all, no wonder none of them look bothered or have fight.

It’s really highlighted how much we’re run by business people and not football people. Anyone with half a football brain on that board would have made changes by now.

It’s not really either of there fault because a lot of it boils down to injuries

It alright people laughing but with a fully fit squad we wouldn’t be in this position. The money situation and transfers yes its the owners/Rodger’s etc fault. I’m not sticking up for Rodger’s I couldn’t give a shit leaves he’s had his best days with us.

I think the players need to take some responsibility here also. As elite professionals, some of them look like they can't control the ball or make a solid pass, or just are not tactically aware (e.g. giving the ball away needlessly in key areas, not pressing, trying the same (failed) thing again and again.  Maybe some of this comes down to "tactics", but at the end of the day there aren't enough leaders on the pitch. Agree though that injuries are again playing a big part here.

But Brendan still makes the decisions like starting Amartey over Cags. No logic to that at all.
