I'd love to know the ins and Outs of this deal, from a contractual side.

He's on loan at Lyon, for the season, where they apparently had a pre set agreement to sign him, if they wanted to, for a pre agreed amount.

His contract at Shakhtar has been suspended because of the russian invasion, which if we understand correctly, was due to end in the summer.

We can, apparently, only sign him on a short term deal because of this contract situation and we may or may not have had to negotiate with Lyon because of the deal they had in place with Shakhtar and negotiate with Shakhtar even though his contract is due to end in the summer anyway, can only assume the suspension of the contract means it will roll on until football in Ukraine can resume?

This has to be the most complicated transfer/loan/short term deal we're ever going to have. And we thought Adrien Silva and a dodgy fax machine was bad lol
