I like him. He’s an out and out defender. He knows his limitations and therefore gets rid when it needs to be.

However Brentford are far more direct than people give them credit for. Frank I’ve nicknamed him Danish Dyche at the way they use set pieces and he moans post match in defeat. Yesterday suited Souttar

I thought this as well, very misunderstood team, they are essentially a better Burnley.

Souttar is a low block defender - a good one too.

Seeing as we are now better at set pieces, we could also bring in a specialist attacking coach, a specialist defensive coach, a specialist how to make substitutions coach, a specialist how to not injure all your players coach and a specialist how to talk to the press, without reverting to blaming else coach.

oh i see, but specialist midfield coaches are cast offs! :P

Essentially a proper manager then? 🤣

Got to let him do something for his £10m, other than cleaning out the bogs.

My God Brendan has mentioned a Plan B 🤯😱🤯😱
According to the Merc he’s been trying Souttar up front to take advantage of his height, So does that mean Brendan’s Plan B is now leave a gap in defence and Push Harry up to score goals ??

Minds well when we're losing. Better than just trying the same thing to score. Just think back to how Huth was so dangerous.

It was more the shock of the Plan B than Souttar being used as an emergency plan B striker !

My, My . Who would of thought of it. We have a 6ft 6 inch player and only now Brendan is going to use him as a plan B.

We've been struggling for years because of Brendans refusal to sign a proper CF.

Someone who can hold the Ball up top while bringing others into play. Especially when we are not the quickest in person at getting forward.

We’ve been doing reasonably well in terms of scoring goals this season, but our defence has been horrific.

We’ve signed a promising CB and finally got someone with a physical presence at the back …. and we’re going to play him up front?

Yep - makes sense

Souttar would be shit up front - what an archaic idea, just stick a big ****ing lump up front and hope for the best. Who else does this? The game has moved on. Work on your Plan A you useless bastard.

If Brendan's plan B is to take the only capable centre half at the club and put him up front then he should be immediately sacked for gross negligence because that's the sort of thing that will ensure we go down.

Disgusting, we're 10th for goals scored and 18th for defence.

Scoring goals isn't a problem that needs solving.

He's listening to the idiots on Facebook who can't see how effective Barnes is, and or can see how well we are doing attacking wise generally.

He's a terrible man manager, who's training techniques have resulted in loads of injuries. No clue. Get rid.

Scoring goals when we're behind and chasing a game definitely is a problem, which is presumably what the whole 'shove Souttar up front plan B' stuff is about.

This is true.

We've scored 4 goals a few times. Which is obviously still goals, but pundits translate this like we score at will. We don't. Teams find it so easy to defend against the passive way we play the ball around the back.

For a manager who speaks so much about intensity and aggression, I've never seen a team lack so much.

What baffles me is there's this narrative that passing football in this way is entertaining and the team we had that won the league was "anti football" for being more direct. Direct has these connotations of it always being lump it to the big man. We were so entertaining when we only needed a few passes to create something. This is death by football in all the wrong ways Brodge.

Which can be also solved by not conceding in the first place and going behind in almost every game.

Half decent defence we would be challenging for the top 8, not bottom 3.

No, what the article doesn’t say is that he’s also been trying Mendy at centre back.
