Can’t we have international week, every week. I like being a PL club - unfortunately, I think by Tuesday night it becomes inevitable that we won’t be one for much longer.

This is exactly how I feel. Can only see this game going one way and not in a good way for us.

Hey Ho this result could go either way. We’ve had a break and come back stronger in the past but also had a break and come back weaker. I’ll be praying for more of the former. We need to start bagging some 3 pointers now by hook or by crook. COYF!

Yes I think in about 9 days time we'll have a very clear picture of what league we'll be in next year. Going to stay optimistic and predict 3 successive wins.

Tielemans has suffered a setbacks his recovery according to Rodgers.

Do we ever have any returning players that don't?

What an absolute cluster fvck of a couple of years for us

Brendan Rodgers Pre-match Press Conference vs Crystal Palace

Maddison's first England start?

“We’re delighted for him. It’s been a long road for him. He’s been consistently playing at a high level. Great for him. He did ever so well.”

Maddison importance?

“He’s a very influential player, but it’s about the team. You need individual quality at the top end. But really it’s about the whole team playing well.”

Maddison leadership?

“He’s matured on and off the pitch in the past few years. He has a great view of the game. He plays the game at the highest level. He can see what’s happening. Then he delivers with goals and assists. He brings intensity too. He’s educated, he speak well and honestly about it, on his performance and the team’s performance. You need that in every team, players that take on a leadership role, and don’t just look at themselves, they look at the team.”

Being near the bottom?

“It’s different. We haven’t been consistently good enough to be anywhere. It’s a great coaching challenge. We have 33 points to play for. We are focused on achieving what we want, which is climbing away from danger as quickly as we can. We have a run of pivotal games, starting at the weekend. It’s a big month for us.”

Hodgson?

“I thought one of the last games of last season at Watford, I thought that was going to be his time and he would go away and enjoy himself. It’s an incredible tribute to his qualities that Palace have called him. He has over 1200 games and he’s still going strong. I’m not sure I’ll still be going strong at that age.”

Zaha?

“He’s a very gifted player. There are certain players that have better records against others. You have to manage him. You can’t leave him in a one v one duel. You need good cover on the field. He’s very good in counter-attacking situations, so you have to make sure the spaces are blocked. We’ll go there with a strong mentality. We have talented players as well.”

What needed in relegation battle?

“The biggest thing you need to have is resilience. It will get banded about on believing in yourself. But that only comes from pain and hurt and coming through that. We have come through adverse moments. We have to show that resilience. Talent alone is not enough. You have to have that mentality, will, and desire to get the results. I believe this group have that.”

'Too good to go down' mentality?

“That’s something that we’ll never be the case. That’s one of the pitfalls, if you think you’re better than what you are. We have shown we can win games, but we haven’t done it consistently enough. We’re under no illusions. We know the qualities we have, but it’s more than that. It’s consistency. If you do that, you’ll pick up results.”

Kristiansen?

“He’s done very well and has trained this week. We’ll just assess him before the game and see where he’s at fitness wise.”

Tielemans?

“Sadly, he’s had a slight setback. He was due to train this week. It might mean he needs some rest for a few extra weeks. It’s disappointing for us. We have to hope it settles down.”

Evans?

“Jonny is back in training, which is great for us.”

Souttar?

“It’s a big thanks to Australia. He had a slight knock on his ankle and they could have kept him there. They took the decision to look after Harry and rule him out of the game. They sent him back early to get the treatment. That’s made a difference for us. Hopefully he should be fine. We’re really grateful for Graham Arnold and his staff.”

Any other knocks?

“Thankfully we have everyone back. Some of the players have played a couple of games. Dennis Praet has picked up a dead leg but should be okay to train tomorrow. Everyone else has looked good.”

Break?

“It was a chance for players to refresh mentally. We’ve worked on some of the details around our game. We’ve done some valuable work. We’ve reinforced confidence. We’re ready for a great run-in."

Table?

“All top clubs, all close together. You have to be focused and take one game at a time. We have seven tough games between now and May 1. But it’s always about the next one. The fixture list is exciting. It gives us a great opportunity to push away from where we are.”

For those questioning Rodgers "fight" in that Sky interview yesterday, this reads quite passionately. Sounds like the players are ready for the fight.

                      Iversen

Ricardo - Souttar - Faes - Kristiansen

       Maddison - Ndidi - KDH

   Tetê     -     Daka     -     Barnes

Would go with the above. Daka for his pressing and Ndidi for his physicality.

April fools is Saturday. We shouldn't be in a fight.

Finding the right words at the moment in time has never ever been Brendan Rodgers (C) problem.

Following through with action and consistency in his opinions are the things he struggles with

I'll reserve judgement until after the Villa game.
