Following Cifuentes sacking and Aiyawatt’s crazy bad WYS episode earlier. It is clear the club is on its knees. Vichai’s son is totally and completely accountable for the mess we’re in, but Rudkin is also totally and completely responsible for the footballing side.

i asked Gemini to list his failings and provide a persuasive case for his sacking, here’s what it said:

The core of the issue is that the "Leicester Model"—once the gold standard of European football—has been dismantled and replaced by a culture of expensive stagnation, overseen by Jon Rudkin.

The Case for Sacking Jon Rudkin

A persuasive argument for his dismissal rests on three pillars of systemic failure:

1. The Financial "Black Hole" and PSR Negligence

Rudkin has overseen a catastrophic period of financial mismanagement that has left the club facing a potential nine-point deduction.

• Asset Mismanagement: He allowed high-value assets like Youri Tielemans, Çağlar Söyüncü, and Ayoze Pérez to walk away for £0 in 2023. At their peak, these players had a combined market value exceeding £80 million.

• The Wage Trap: Under Rudkin, the wage-to-turnover ratio reached unsustainable levels (peaking at over 116%). By handing massive, long-term contracts to aging or squad players like Jannik Vestergaard, he created "golden handcuffs"—players who cannot be sold because no other club will match their inflated Leicester salary.

• The £90m Deficit: The club’s staggering losses (including the £89.7 million loss in the 2022/23 accounts) are a direct result of failing to generate profit through player trading, the very thing that previously made Leicester successful.

2. The Collapse of Recruitment Standards

The scouting department, once led by experts like Steve Walsh, has become a "Recruitment Graveyard" under Rudkin’s ultimate sign-off.

• Wasteful Spending: Since 2021, Leicester has spent over £150 million on players who have either failed to make an impact or significantly depreciated in value (e.g., Boubakary Soumaré, Patson Daka, and Wout Faes).

• Lack of Profile: There is no longer a "Leicester type" of player. Every manager—from Rodgers to Van Nistelrooy to Cifuentes—has inherited a squad of "misfits" that don’t suit a singular tactical identity.

3. Strategic Inertia

Rudkin’s longevity is his greatest indictment. In any other high-stakes industry, an executive who oversaw relegation with a top-10 wage bill and a failed "reset" in the Championship would be dismissed.

• The "Mates Rates" Culture: His survival suggests a club that prizes personal comfort and loyalty to the Srivaddhanaprabha family over professional competence.

• No Succession Plan: The sacking of Cifuentes today without a replacement lined up—leaving the burden on Andy King as interim—shows a board that is reacting to events rather than dictating them.

Conclusion: If Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha continues to back Rudkin, he is essentially confirming your "delusional" assessment. You cannot expect a different outcome while the same man is making the decisions. For the club to move forward, the "Director of Football" role needs a modern, ruthless professional who understands the current financial landscape of the EFL and Premier League.

100% this...!!

Worrying to think you can get all this factual information in seconds just by asking a simple question in Gemini......yet the Owners of our football club are unable to see it (or choose not to?)

I dont know how/why they cant (wont?) see it but Rudkin would have been fired years ago if he worked at that level in a PLC with such a catalogue of failures behind him.... in fact, in reality, he probably wouldnt have even made it to that level in the first place which is probably the most damning indictment of all.

Over-promoted  +  Over-protected  =  Recipe for repeated failure.

How many more managerial appointments are we going to let him oversee before we realise its the person appointing those managers and buying/selling the players thats the real issue.....and nothing will change until that changes!

This summer is going to be interesting.

Maguire, Chilwell, Mahrez and Fofana - major sales. Both Vichai and the tit decided Rudkin wasn’t intelligent enough to handle these negotiations. Not sure who handled the Maddison or Barnes sales.

This summer with Fatawu, Bilal and a deal for James - I’d say one of our most important summers given the financial issues we will encounter, we are all about to be even more pissed off with senior exec Jon wankstain Rudkin

Whelan IIRC, and whilst she wasn’t perfect, we lost that when decided she can’t work with these morally bankrupt morons anymore.

because Gemini and literally any other AI model is not sentient, it is not capable of synthesising any thoughts. It's just an aggregation machine in a fancy hat, so it just regurgitates what people on the internet have to say - I.e. the overall sentiments of online fans. They don't listen to the fans, they're not going to change that just because it was reworded by an algorithm

What has he got on that family?

Photo negatives I suspect… There is no other feasible explanation for keeping someone that has overseen so much abject failure during his latter tenure period.

Well apparently Rudkin can't be to blame because we won the Premier League 10 years ago!

Its an absolute insult to everyone who did achieve that anyone thinks that absolute shite stain has anything to do with us winning the League. He was in position for 12 months maximum, not enough time to create his poison.

It’s pretty impressive that he’s convinced someone who was actually there that he had anything to do with us winning the league though. Imagine if he used his powers for good.

The very fact Top thinks the knives are out for Teflon Jon purely because he’s being blamed for poor signings shows how thick he thinks the fans are or how utterly clueless he is about the whole situation.

Let alone the message it sends to the players still here.

He was responsible for our title win in the same way Gokhan Inler was. There at the right time

At least he knew for the betterment of his career to move on. He missed out on the Swiss squad for Euro 2016 because of his lack of games and bounced to Turkey I believe.

I would argue Inler played a bigger part than Rudkin though. Out of everyone who works for LCFC at that point, it was not the DoF that were responsible as much as everyone doing their bit at the club from recruitment all the way down to the smallest job. Claudio, Steve Walsh and his team told him who he wanted to sign and Rudkin stamped the cheques. At most he helped by not getting in the way.

I'm just wondering why someone who won us the League hasn't been picked up by the other 100 clubs that would want him?

Potter didn’t wanna work with him.

Vardy can’t stand him.

The bloke is clearly not a fan of Leicester City and should’ve been fired years ago.

Pearson hated him. He's one of the main problems with the club. He's the one that has got us in this mess as he is the DoF, and he's directing the football terribly.

He should be sacked, and we need new structure entirely. But from what Top said in his interview....ain't gonna happen

Ruskin is destroying this club and Top can’t see it.

Because the club won’t allow it and/or he doesn’t want to

Sad state of play that he can’t/won’t face the media because of the hate from his own clubs fans. Could tell by Top’s interview he has put faith in this t*** and he’s got no idea how bad he really is. He’s a cancer on our club and the day he’s goes our club will be revived.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned in this thread before but I did hear from someone who works for the club that he’s the one who vetoed a contract extension for Vardy. He wanted to stay but apparently Rudkin is the one who said no

Apparently Jon has offered to be interviewed by the media but he'll only speak in Thai (he knows the words for "love you longtime" & "ping pong ball")
