This is absolutely insane but I’m so rattled I’m talking myself into it.

Soon as you're past that bit you realise its all you want.

Because everyone is losing their ****ing minds

I've never seen such mass wibble in my entire life.

The reality is its going to be a very underwhelming appointment as they have their eye on Potter in the summer. We aren't going to get a long term manager until its decided which division we are in next season. Bringing in an experienced and cheap short term option is arguably the most sensible option at this point.

So you're looking at the likes of  MON, Allardyce, Pardew and possibly Benitez but he'll be expensive and want a longer contract. We aren't in a position to be very picky right now, its why the board should have acted much much sooner.

Or would you rather us get Hasenhuttl or Marsch? Because those are the only guys that would consider us as a long term viable option right now.

The only way you could convince me MON is a good idea.

That’s the thing that rattles everyone the most as over 18 months ago you knew it was all leading up to this situation but you never assumed they would be this incompetent to leave it this late to act.

This would be the best news I'd hear all day if it was true. Pure nostalgia.

I’m not sure who’s the craziest, the bring back NFP brigade or the bring back MON brigade.

I’m in both brigades.

I've heard they've already started planting moss up the back of the East Stand.

Who else is going to take the job with no guarantee beyond 9 games?  The issue is whether you consider any manager with experience likely to give you a better chance than Stadler and Waldorf.  MON is a ridiculous option, but he may be the best one we have.  If nothing else he'll get the fans worked up.

You hear about this Heart Vs Head thing and that is exactly what's happening right now. What I didn't realise is that they would try and enlist allies in other body parts but it's clear my arsehole is firmly in the 'head camp' because he's twitching like a rabbits nose. I think my knob is in the 'Heart camp' but he could just be happy it's Thursday, he's unpredictable. Like Italy.

Final point. If there's one man that could get an aging striker well past his best performing again then its Martin.

Does interim count as ‘next manager’ ?

10 games it is - which is the interesting bit. Means it'd be a game short, however I have a sneaky feeling that if MON did very well, he'd get next season. (Like Ole did at United)

It’s a odd one, a win or two changes everything so we are far from down but it’s hard to see where a win is coming from.

in 9 games you can’t completely change a team’s style but you can motivate and I’m sure MON has that.

Even if we went down with him, it wouldn’t spoil my memory of his first spell at the club.

can we get a better motivational  interim in the next few days?  If Rafa doesn’t want it I’m not sure.

MoN is a romantic idea but he hasn't managed for 4 years and hasn't been great since Robertson retired. Keep your legacy as it is Martin.

... And watch us burn, there's a good lad!

I’m warming to the idea of Harry Soutter being sent upfront for the last ten….. could you imagine the absolute melt down on super Sunday when Soutter flicks one on for Kalechi to tear into the top corner in the 90’th?

O’Neill is a dinosaur in footballing terms.

The game has gone past the likes of Mourinho, Wenger etc

So why would anyone want a Manager with less tactical nous than that?

The same Group of people that want Cambiasso and Pearson no Doubt.

I can confirm that I am one and the same person

The only way I'd be on board with MON is if his staff were filled with progressive, tactically adept, modern coaches, and MON would be the figurehead, the motivater, the lightning rod. A bit like how Ferguson chopped and changed his coaching staff over the decades to get fresh voices, perspectives, personalities, tactics and styles.

Even then, I'd be so, so wary of it. I really wouldn't want him to tarnish his legacy here.

If he brought in Roy ****ing Keane, not a chance in Hell.

Not sure he knows where the goal is

He needs to sort his accuracy first, missed 2 sitters with his head but I do like the idea.

I'm curious what realistic option the folks shltting on the idea of MON would like to see.  Because if you don't have one, what you're really saying is our chances would be better sticking with Stadler and Waldorf.  Which is a valid opinion, but let's be clear about the choices are.
