Always my queen, Penny

She's looking exceptionally lush today in that turquoise gown, nailing the highly appropriate Saxon Milkmaid look.

With the help and support of @bovril and @Finnegan, I thought I'd managed to forget about Penny, but today I'm falling in love all over again. :nono:

He looks really sad. It's like he's waited all this time and it's a massive letdown

He does - or some blend of melancholic and diffident. Must be an odd experience to wait 70 years for a job and to only get it because your mother has died...

With his apparent diffidence, it makes for an odd look when he's walking along with those burly bishops either side of him. Looks as if they're escorting him back to his room in the care home or something.

Perhaps Andrew could hold 'the rod of justice and equity' for a sec and give Charles' forearms a rest.

I think there's a suggestion he's someone not to be trusted to act decently with a rod of any description.

I have to hand it Penny to be fair, really great get up and performed magnificently. Fully converted now.

It’s quite a weighty thing to handle and she’s had it firmly upright for nigh on two hours now.
That sword looks heavy too.

She's just texted to say she IS coming to the park later but is insisting on bringing the massive sword so it's difficult to tell how this is going to go

This should be subtitled one million and one useless facts

I now know that the grandfather of the 6th grenadier from the right in the second row once waved at the queen in 1957 as the royal train passed through Scarborough

They don’t even hold jousting competitions anymore, what is there to watch? How can you be arsed?

It’s 2023 we have iPhones that let you take selfies and add funny little masks and accessories to your face virtually, I know what I’d rather be doing tbqh

Didn't realise it was going to be so long.

Some of the Congregation might be asleep!

Are we past page 25 of the order of service yet?

Dragging on now - too long.

You're disappointed this is the condensed version of the coronation then

I don't feel quite so awkward now that we can al agree Penny was looking particularly lush today

They've brought the nation together, just not in the way they intended

The congregation spent over 4 hours in the Abbey. Must've been massive queues at the portaloos. That's a long time.

Expected to see them all leaving on 86 minutes.
