AC Milan have ‘already found agreement’ with Leicester player – 28-year-old set for exit

 

Leicester City are in a relegation battle and their poor run in the league saw them part ways with Brendan Rodgers and appoint Dean Smith as his successor last month.

 

Smith’s appointment hasn’t favoured Daniel Amartey, who is yet to make an appearance for the Foxes under the new manager.

 

The 28-year-old centre-back has a deal expiring in June and his future could be away from Leicester.

 

According to Il Romanista, the Ghanaian’s contract situation has drawn interest from AC Milan.

 

With Amartey unlikely to find an agreement with Leicester over a new deal, Milan chief Paolo Maldini would have identified him as a ‘great market opportunity’ for the next window.

 

In fact, the versatile player seems ‘closer than ever’ to wearing the Milan shirt as it’s claimed they ‘have already found an agreement’ for his transfer.

 

Stefano Pioli’s side could see one of Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Simon Kjær leave the San Siro after this season. Therefore, Maldini would ‘like to secure’ the Leicester player’s services for next season.

 

The report warns Milan that they must be wary about Inter Milan as the latter are vigilant about Amartey’s situation.

I love Amartey but seeing him in an AC Milan shirt considering the level of centrebacks theyve had would be the funniest sh*t.

It does initially sound a bit ridiculous. But for free, probably not going to be an extortionate wage, solid enough 5th/6th choice CB, 3rd choice RB, 4th choice DM rolled into one, and someone would give them a few million the next summer just because he’d be a Milan player. It’s probably quite a sensible move on their part, hope he gets it and it works out for him, he’s been a good servant.

Only Leicester could go down with one of our CBs off to AC Milan, Another CB off to Atletico and our RB probably off to Interlol

A lot of out fans would be fuming to see him play for us in the championship.... imagine if we end up watching him in the champions league. 

 

I can already visulize Brendan sat in his boxers with a bowl of cereal for dinner watching Ac Milan play out a 0-0 against athletico with the walls of big dan and soyuncu just not crumbling. He'd be sat there murmuring about where this character was for him and wondering why the ball is moving forwards.

He'll probably do better in a slower paced league!. I'm sorry but he's not a great defender, lacks the technical awareness of top class defenders. Wish him all the best but we need better quality of defenders and have for some time now.

I know a lot don’t like him but I’ve said it before we need players who are happy being a squad player. He’s always done ok and never caused any issue. Think it’s a bad decision personally because you won’t get someone for free to replace him.

I mean by unsettling the squad never heard a bad comment about him in general. If we go down he’d be a good one to keep with extra games as well.

I'm an unashamed Big Dan cultist (or daft kid as @Col city fanwould say) and I don't care what you all think. This narrative that we'd be safe by now if we'd just played Soyuncu may possibly be true. But the facts are that it doesn't seem to matter who we play at the back, we are still conceding chances and goals at an alarming rate (and if not for Iversen would be conceding even more goals). It leads me to thinking the issue may actually be our sieve like midfield not tracking runners and leaving our defenders horribly exposed.
