if they were sitting mid table i would agree, but its still a huge amount of money to spend for a club circling the drain!

Also 3m for Hudson-Odoi does sound good but you add in his (i am guessing) £120k a week wage and it doesnt look that good of a deal does it!

Some of those signings were great for the value and some of their transfer business has been underrated.

However, as the saying goes, throw enough shit at the wall and something will stick.

As Chelsea’s 8 year contract trick has been nixxed, wonder if they will try for flexible amortisation next….

Surely you can have 'infinite amortisation'. Just start saying even though the player is on a 5 year deal we expect them to be here for 50 years +.

New "rolling amortisation" with an agile end date and owner defined late surfaced values.

Hope is everything next season, realistically we will get a points deduction and are hot favourites to go down.

I just hope that we can end the financial irregularities things ( however unfair and ridiculous) and start with a clean slate and no Damaclean swords IF we are back in the Championship - and also with no unwanted points/losses records.

Progress isn't always measured by a presence in the EPL imao.

Like others l have zero expectations for next season, I'd settle for a groundhog season (14/15) and a position the following season equivalent to 15/16 - which the way the EPL have fixed things now would mean a finish of 6th to 10th!

NOT looking forward to the return of the celebration killer, Championship was a joy without it.

Amazes me that all them journalists couldn't see part of Brendan's strategy is getting pundits on side. He even had Merson do an article suggesting him for the Chelsea job after he was sacked by us.

He’s a Forest fan, always going to have a bit of bias.

Rumours of Forest wanting to leave the city ground for a new stadium in Toton (near Long Eaton) are not going away.

They’ll likely have it done before our expansion too.

We’re faffing, should’ve been done 5-7 years ago.

That'll be crap for them, I remember them wanting to move to Clifton a while back (might have even been part of our 2018 world cup bid). Toton is just as bad, a lot of reliance on their trams to get to / from for home and away fans that don't drive to the game.

They're a bunch of tossers but the location of their ground is second to none.

Be a shame as the City Ground is handy to get to.

And - although it pains me to say it - it's a decent type of ground. It's proper. Bit of history. Good for the supporters. Right on the banks of a river. It really is a top notch ground. I'd be wanting to develop the ground if at all possible.

it looks like a bit of a threat to the council to be honest rather than anything concrete. Council charge them 250k a year for the City Ground and they are putting it up to £1m a year.

Moving to Toten would take years to go through, the transport links alone would be a disaster.

Difficult choice, you can either win the europa conference league.. silverware in to put in the cupboard for always and one more laugh at Spuds... or get champions league football and get triple revenue from that. Weird world where potential you can earn more than actually winning something. Fa Cup win for us... i'd never trade in for champions league... sorry but we were long overdue that historic trophy. You know what I'd happily win it again next season over a top four finish. Least then we can say we have bettered the amount of times Cov have won it and would equal Forest's two.

Don't dislike them as much as I did when Purslow was there. It was interesting chatting to a season ticket holder this week - he was gutted they're prioritising top 4 over a trophy.

Personally I'd much rather take an FA Cup win and a 5th place finish but its all about the champions league for the kids these days isn't it

They have pretty much gone all in financially on the Champions League, haven't they?

Bit disappointed that he refers to ManC as 'City'. Perhaps he didn't and that's the publishers spin.

They're not "City" they are " Citeh" unfortunately that's how they are known "United" And "Citeh" but I get its a bit disappointing when when a "Lesta" fan refers to them as that. It's just universally known like that now!

Quite like this thing City have been singing for ten minutes non-stop. Bet United hate it. The Stone Roses are supposed to be Reds:

Sometimes I,

Fantasise,

Won the league under Mancini,

And again with Pellegrini,

Don't these times,

Fill your eyes,

Now we've got Pep Guardiola,

And the blues are taking over,

We're never gonna lose,

We're always on the booze…
