In the article itself:

"The completion of a takeover by 49ers Enterprises would, according to those with knowledge of its intentions for Leeds, result in an increased close-season budget as part of the US group’s plan to inject funds into the club and avoid more than 12 months outside the Premier League."

Not good news if we were banking on beating them to an automatic promotion position.

It will be interesting to see how it works out. When the Yanks get involved with "proper football", anything can happen. Look at Chelsea for example.

Just realised we're gonna play the likes of Hull, Millwall, Cardiff etc. I ****ing hate this league.

Comparing Todd Boehly to the 49ers Group would be like comparing Kanye West to Steve Jobs. They’re both American, and that’s about where the similarities end.

The 49ers group has been planning for quite some time. They didn’t simply throw money together to buy some shiny toy that just came onto the market. They immediately make Leeds a real concern to our quick promotion hopes. This isn’t Todd Boehly blindly throwing cash at any and every player with potential, but having zero actual plan. These two ownership groups are nothing alike, and the Leeds United supporters should be thrilled they landed in the 49ers group lap, while we as LCFC supporters should be concerned that another team in the championship just made a major improvement and we’re seemingly sitting with our thumbs up our bums.

I don't see Hoefkens as a realistic option or candidate, he's shot up in the betting because of a tweet. We are very secretive as a club now, Rodgers out leaked only minutes before the announcement.

I think the appointment will come as a surprise in terms of how quickly it will be announced after any rumours.

I do think you’re probably right but there’s a lot that makes sense about it. Rumoured interest from Leuven. The fact the club were keenly scouting CDK and maybe even the payment we received for sowah for reaching the last 16 in the CL. It just makes sense that we’d be aware of him.

There’s always an early stage in a deal and if a leak came from his end… it’s plausible at least.

Leeds fans not convinced. They had 44% ownership since 2021 and they never made themselves vocal in the last twelve months when its been bonkers at boardroom level with Victor Orta etc.

Theory is they've waited until the club lose some value to agree a deal.

Calvin Ramsay from Liverpool to Preston on loan. Been mentioned as a possible RB for us on loan if we lose ours but looks like boat missed on this…

I don't know 80% of the players being mentioned in the Championship.

Leeds have made a sensible backroom appointment

Hammond is very hit and miss, did a good interim job at Newcastle but there's some stinkers in his record too.

I wonder if Webber isn't allowed to work until September 1st a little bit like Glover here was, he left Norwich yesterday and is expected to join Leeds.

Norwich have made some smart signings so far.

it’s funny how things are viewed differently. Don’t rate them at all personally.

Bristol city have done the best work so far

I remember when he was linked here, and people were rightly fuming about it.

I remember the Mercury article something about is trying to sign 12 free agents and Marlon King being the main headliner. Sven got a bit excited.
