I'd be really impressed if I was a Villa fan, they'll have seen the goal highlights but what they won't have seen is he's phoned it in for nearly a year now if not longer, by the time the season ended I was sick of the sight of Youri.

I remember a few years ago, having a conversation about who was the better player between Tielemans and Neves. Both were very good in what were traditionally average clubs.

Neves looking like he’s going to Barca (read this a few days ago so could be wrong) and Youri heading to Villa.

I think that says it all.

Last season killed his reputation as a top player. Before the season starts he was one of our prize assets. Now, we would t have really cared if he went even if we were in the premier league still. Ah well. Good luck at Villa, not the top club you wanted.

Anyone from the outside reading these comments would think we're bitter, but he genuinely has tarnished his reputation amongst us and he won't reach those heights he was at before he downed tools, ever again.

Isn't that what he had here though, when we offered him another contract 2 years ago, that he wouldn't sign. He thought he would get a champions league club, instead he's ended up with another version of what we were. Well done Youri, maybe if he could have gave a f**k in the last 2 seasons he might have got his dream move, instead he has had to settle for more of what he had. Berk!

He’ll be delighted he didn’t sign a contract at Leicester 2 years ago given the utter shambles we’ve become. He’s now be stuck on a long term contract getting ready to play Coventry City on a Tuesday night while we demanded a fortune for him.

He’s done the right thing in getting off this sinking ship. Probably saw what was coming

This screams, I’d have re-signed if we’d have stayed up.

I think you’re right. He’s really settled in the area, by all accounts. Kids in schools etc. Shame really. Despite all the negativity on here, I like the guy. Good player. Scored some belters for us too.

Said in the transfer thread, he started playing silly buggers with his contract because he wanted the big club and champions league football.  He got neither and is back in the Europa conference. I reckon he feels a bit sh1t with himself and so he should.

Played himself for a fool by running down the contract in a way that was protecting himself for a future move, because the clubs he'd want to be at saw the lack of effort.

To be honest I’d usually think that’s mean spirited but absolutely fuch him - I hope he sits on the bench and loses his place in the Belgium squad

Tillymons FFS lol

Good luck to him but I think Villa will be disappointed with their BOGOF purchase when they find out how slowly it runs. Scores bangers, doesn't move.

At his peak with us he could have chosen from some elite teams in Europe … now looks like he is ending up at villa … up the road at an average team …
