Popular Post Chelmofox Posted 10 June 2023 Popular Post Posted 10 June 2023 He ate too much dinner And ended up at villa nah nah nah nah….. 5

Gazza M Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 Villa being local will be after Barnes as well as maybe one or two more.
Ashdav86 Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 (edited) Genuinely think he's peaked. Played since he was 16. Everyone remember Rooney was slow at 30 because he started early. The best game he's had for us this/last season was the Leeds home. In a sort of sitting quarterback role. He'll do well for villa especially in conference league playing that role Wish him the best. I have never reacted the way I did to THAT goal Edited 10 June 2023 by Ashdav86 2

lcfcsnow Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 Drinkwater all over again. Been saying for a while his legs have gone, and he'd be done at the top level by 28. Over the past year I've been thinking 28 was optimistic. 2

eblair Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 Difficult to not be absolutely fuming with him. Want to say ruined legacy but FA cup was special

Dude wasted two years phoning it in to get no benefit from if he'd tried over those 2 years 12

Pita Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 I think Lcfc have had his best years. By his standards he has had quite a poor season

For 2 seasons he has been running his contract down and for 2 seasons many fans have been questioning his attitude, his fitness, his commitment and his desire to succeed. He was a huge part of out poor performances last season, and at a time we needed our assets to be invested in the club he was found seriously wanting. The club even made this journeyman captain, in the hope it might spur some leadership. It didn't. He took the pi55 out of all of us last year. He did this because he thought he deserved more. 2 seasons ago we were FA cup holders and Charity Shield holders, and were in the Europa league. Its a downgrade for Youri from the point he started playing silly buggers, and not the Champions league move he craved. Good, he deserves it. Clearly, the top clubs took note of his attitude, and its come back to bite him. 4
Foxxed Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 I think he knew the ship was sinking a while back, lost motivation and gained an appetite.

Ironically their best chance to win a trophy will be the Conference league, which I imagine they will be favourites to win, and winning that will also probably be their best chance of making the Europe league too and of course Emery certainly knows how to win cups in Europe. 1
Lcfc-1992 Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 Been playing non stop since he was about 17? He’s not going to last as long as most and he’s slow at the best of times.
Pinfox Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 After all reports of Arsenal, Roma, Liverpool, Juve etc etc.. he ends up at Villa. It proves there never has been a market for him. Good luck to him anyhow.
Foxes96 Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 If he was so happy in the midlands, and loved the club, why didn’t he sign an extension last year, or 2 years ago… At least we could’ve got a fee for him then. To run his contract down, only to join the Villa is sickening 🤮
Lambert09 Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 annoyingly obvious that the clubs doing well recently make their moves quickly. Brighton and villa shining examples of having a vision and moving quickly. didn’t even take them all that long to get emery. Clubs have no excuse for not knowing exactly what they want to do and can do at the start of a window. Just sums up our sorry state of affairs that we appear to have barely considered what managers to short list 😂 1

I’ve seen a graph showing he’s played by far the most of any player. Edited 10 June 2023 by Beechey

So by signing for Villa, he's not gone further forward in his career, to where he was with us 2 years ago. So from 2 years ago, its a sideways move at best 2
Viva Posted 10 June 2023 Posted 10 June 2023 I imagine he’s done himself out of a few million too by not extending and improving his contract with us two years ago.
