filbertway Posted 13 June 2023 Posted 13 June 2023 Surely emery actually plays him in midfield and not as a wide centre back. That'd be my go to move anyway.

His time at Monaco was pretty poor, so out of the 6 seasons since he departed Anderlecht he's only had one outstanding full season. I hope people at the club are hanging their heads in shame at not selling a prize asset 2 years ago, all that nonsense about us not being a selling club anymore, as mentioned by Rodgers after the cup win, has royally screwed the club. You can't keep players who want to move on, it creates problems in the dressing room. Whoever listened to the snake oil salesman needs to fall on their sword. well when you can't pick quality new signings to save your life you have to hang on for dear life to what you had. just a shame we were told this by celtic fans and a lot of us knew ourselves that rodgers and his mate would absolutely **** us. 2

Bloke downed tools for 18 months and didn’t even get the champions league football he wanted Think it would have been even more infuriating if we had stayed up and he had gone there. No issues with him leaving but he's clearly not given 100% over the last 12 months which is unacceptable. Similar to Rodgers, he should be a legend after the fa Cup final but I personally don't think he'll go down as a legend. 3

He was piss poor in the World Cup! 1

Rodgers is no Pearson or Ranieri, and Tielemans is no Albrighton or even Drinkwater. 1 1
Leicesterpool Posted 13 June 2023 Posted 13 June 2023 I always this feeling after Youri scored that goal in the cup final he probably thought a queue of European giants wanting to sign. Seem to recall Barcelona being linked never anything came of it. Its possible he allowed this attention get to his head. 1
Ian Nacho Posted 13 June 2023 Posted 13 June 2023 Haven’t even been able to bring myself to go on FT the last few days because of how sickening this is. 1
RumbleFox Posted 14 June 2023 Posted 14 June 2023 Has anyone discussed whether it’s a sideways move or not yet?
Popular Post StanSP Posted 14 June 2023 Popular Post Posted 14 June 2023 'it's good to have a clear head' Yeah, good for you. Not for us for the last year, you tit. 16

trabuch Posted 14 June 2023 Posted 14 June 2023 Tielemans to Villa, Rodgers to Celtic - Leicester City relegated. It's a funny old game, but I'm not laughing. 2 1
Corky Posted 14 June 2023 Posted 14 June 2023 They are good players but I'm struggling to name many I'd be disappointed to see leave. The more out the better. 4
blueharmie Posted 14 June 2023 Posted 14 June 2023 Bet he can do that hot dog challenge where they don't swallow and gulp them down the **** .
Nod.E Posted 14 June 2023 Posted 14 June 2023 (edited) It's obviously painful to witness what is confirmation, as though it were needed, that Villa are a more attractive position than us now. But for me this would be a lot more painful if the player in question was still any good. I don't have the same bitterness or longing for 'what might have been if he stayed' as I did when Izzet finally left, or even when Iain fvcking Hume left us for Barnsley when we were relegated to League One. No, Youri has been poor for ages. I don't care that he's gone. I don't regret that we won't see him in our shirt any more. In fact I'm looking forward to watching a Leicester City side minus an unfit player in the very position the modern game demands peak fitness. He's so unfit that his touch goes, the same way mine does after more than 5 minutes playing 5-a-side. He has technical ability which gives him the potential to be among the very best. But for whatever reason he has looked miles off it for ages. Whether that's because of his body, his diet, or simply his mentality with one foot already out the club, it doesn't change the fact that it was not working. He'd have been crap for us next year as well if he was playing for us. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Edited 14 June 2023 by Nod.E 4
dayday Posted 15 June 2023 Posted 15 June 2023 Was very over rated, to slow, gave the ball away a lot, went missing in games Good riddance 3
SK3Blue Posted 15 June 2023 Posted 15 June 2023 I wonder what reception he would get if he were to come back here in a cup game this season. The club have been soft as sh1t with him in my opinion, he would never have got away with it anywhere else.

And I think that's the only reason, I can't think of anyone who has under perfomed over such a long period more so than Tielemans when you compare to his first 2 seasons.
CrazyKopCorner Posted 15 June 2023 Posted 15 June 2023 (edited) I was talking to an Arsenal fan yesterday who said he thought Tielemans had made himself look a complete tw@t by going to AV and that's coming from an Arsenal fan - base irony at it's finest Edited 15 June 2023 by CrazyKopCorner

This about sums it up for me and is another example of what’s wrong with modern day, top flight football. There is zero accountability: - Rodgers ruins the team and gets the Celtic job - Tielemans is fat, has a crap season and moves to Villa - Rudders fooks everything up and goes to race meetings with his boss, drinking Pimms and eating salmon and cucumber sarnies. - Us fans look on, bewildered at what’s happened… As you say, it’s a funny old game but I’m not laughing either
