Guest glasgowfox Posted 1 July 2023 Share Posted 1 July 2023 According to the BBC Danny has said he would like to return to Leicester. Bet he does after finding out the grass is not always greener. Loved him when at Leicester but not sure what role he thinks he could play....maybe a programme seller. No offence Danny but I do not think you could do a job as a footballer for us...probably just a trash story in fairness.

Jakemoore Posted 1 July 2023 Share Posted 1 July 2023 Drinkwater wanting a return to Leicester is about as much news as me saying I want to play for Leicester. Neither will happen. The guy is washed up and finished at this level. Close thread.

Craig Posted 1 July 2023 Share Posted 1 July 2023 Bit sad to hear him this desperate. What a waste. No.
Patrick Posted 2 July 2023 Share Posted 2 July 2023 Think he needs to be looking at League Two or National League level if he wants to get back into playing and even many clubs at that level will be reluctant given his issues.
KFS Posted 2 July 2023 Share Posted 2 July 2023 Take home for pre season with a potential pay as you play at the end. I.e. not going to happen

Popular Post Aus Fox Posted 2 July 2023 Popular Post Share Posted 2 July 2023 I would love for the club to offer him the opportunity to train with the club and do a preseason, get himself fit both physically and mentally. Maybe play a couple of games with the kids and give him the opportunity to be ready if a League One or Two side came in for him. We don’t have to offer him any money, but as a club I’d love to see us supporting our former players and helping them out a long the way. Drinkwater was instrumental in winning both the Championship and PL titles and it’s sad the way his career has turned out for him.
filbertway Posted 2 July 2023 Share Posted 2 July 2023 I'm sure he would. I;' like to think we're smarter than that though. Signing a bellend who's done the square root of **** all when he's not got Pearson holding his hand would be mental. We've already spent 15 million on 2 bang average lower half prem players with no potential to improve.

HybridFox Posted 2 July 2023 Share Posted 2 July 2023 Absolutely not in a playing capacity. I'm sure the club could help him out from an ambassadorial point
Bptiger Posted 2 July 2023 Share Posted 2 July 2023 He was a greedy **** going to those arse holes , deserved what he got , I doubt he has had time to remove all those wooden splinters from his arse . No thanks
ACF Posted 2 July 2023 Share Posted 2 July 2023 I actually want this to happen. Low wages, point to prove, yes he was greedy but who could blame him? Blokes gone through a lot, self inflicted mind you, but if he’s in the right mindset, I’d be right behind him getting a go. Bring him in on a short term/pre-season deal, see if he’s serious or not.
blue army 1988 Posted 2 July 2023 Share Posted 2 July 2023 After reading the interview it seems Drinkwater thinks the fans want him back saying if we do we need to make noise 🤔 😂 Very deluded character
LCFCJohn Posted 2 July 2023 Share Posted 2 July 2023 He needs to build his career back (if there’s even time left in it) at a lower level. Given he’s from Manchester area and with him starting out at Man Utd, somewhere like Salford City would make sense. Or Stockport. Both upwardly mobile League 2 clubs who he and try may both be able to mutually benefit from each other.
TrickyTrevLeftPeg Posted 2 July 2023 Share Posted 2 July 2023 No thanks.. surely a league one or two team would take a punt on him Wrexham?
CrazyKopCorner Posted 2 July 2023 Share Posted 2 July 2023 I think he's pinpointing exactly where it all went wrong for him and identifying where he was probably at his happiest. Proves money can't buy you happiness It would be good if we could help him in some capacity. Remember Leicester loves you more than you will know
Popular Post sacreblueits442 Posted 2 July 2023 Popular Post Share Posted 2 July 2023 ...we took care of Simpson when he didn't have a club and allowed him to train and build up his fitness!!! As a "Family" you would not be surprised if we chose to rehabilitate him in some way. With all that has happened in his life, since he went to Chelsea and the problems with drinking, this is going to be his last throw of the dice, coming back to where things last meant sense and where he himself last felt comfortable with himself. If we fail to acknowledge his cry for help then where does he go. He needs help psychologicly, I previously posted that it maybe ADHD that he struggles with, as he has had a turbulent life, showing unusual behaviour even in the good times. I hope we bring him in, concentrate on his fitness to focus his mind and the club psychologist (if we still have one) can then work with him to understand his mental issue. You cannot ignore a cry for help, not from one of your own!!
Dahnsouff Posted 2 July 2023 Share Posted 2 July 2023 Feels like like a litmus test. Are we still going to be caring sharing club, the same one that assisted Simpson, or are we taking a harder line, a more professional, no passengers approach. We are in the Championship with money troubles, so perhaps……..
