Is anybody good enough to be a first choice keeper going to agree to be a second choice one? I doubt it (maybe unless you're Man City or suchlike). So you're never going to have your sub keeper being as good as your first team keeper!

He was on loan at Fleetwood in League One for the first half of the season but hardly played and then moved to Hartlepool in League Two for the second half of the season Although they got relegated it sounds like he still played well for them, without him they would’ve been relegated earlier / lost games they drew etc. I would prefer if he went out on loan again, hopefully in League One, rather than stay as our number 2/3, needs more first team experience

First opportunity he gets at a run of games he's an absolute shuttle crash. The 2nd choice doesnt need to be as good as the 1st choice, but it wouldnt be askkng to much of them to have some reasonable goalkeeping ability and not to concede 50% of on target shots.
HankMarvin Posted 21 July 2023 Share Posted 21 July 2023 Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers may have to prioritise a move to replace veteran goalkeeper Joe Hart. 🤞
Chico1958 Posted 21 July 2023 Share Posted 21 July 2023 I can't see a future for either of them at Leicester. Cut our losses and get them both out the door
FoxesWalk Posted 21 July 2023 Share Posted 21 July 2023 I’d rather we kept one and sent Stolarczyk out on loan. Issue is, Ward simply cannot play for us again, and Iversen isn’t going to want to stay and be backup at this level.

Turtle27 Posted 23 July 2023 Share Posted 23 July 2023 Will be surprised if anyone matches Wards wages. He strikes me as someone happy to sit on the bench and pick up a decent wage

Telling that both not in squad today, they'll be off.
MPH Posted 23 July 2023 Share Posted 23 July 2023 I think Iversen did ok when he came in last season- certainly an improvement on Ward… I’d keep him as a no.2 but if both leave I think I trust the board to spend the funds wisely…

In another life, he's stacking shelves at Aldi.

Clever Fox Posted 23 July 2023 Share Posted 23 July 2023 It's surely certain that one will leave before the season starts. Let's hope it's Ward, Even if we do have to pay him to leave.

Gamble92 Posted 23 July 2023 Share Posted 23 July 2023 I can genuinely see a scenario where Ward retires after us. He isn't going to want to play League One or lower because of wages more than anything else. His rep has taken enough of a battering without accepting football that low down. Not a chance anyone at this level goes near him.
Outfox the Fox Posted 23 July 2023 Share Posted 23 July 2023 Ah, but he must be happy being Wales' Number 1 now (even though they're going down the pan). Can't see him ditching that atm.

I think he is a player that we need to bite the bullet on and take the loss. In all fairness to him, he deserves to get away as he will never recover his reputation at Leicester. longy Posted 23 July 2023 Share Posted 23 July 2023 Get Rudkin on the blower to Ryan Reynolds FC and fleece 'em. They'd loved a Welsh international keeper over there! I'd actually be happy if the club bought him out of his contract. I never want to see him in a City shirt ever again.
