Wasn't at the training open session so not playing this w/end for sure but at least Faes was so hopefully he gets the nod over Vestergaard

Wouldn't be surprised if its - ricardo/faes/vestergaard/doyle

Genuinely amazed that Vesty is potentially getting the nod over Souttar.

Based on how he played in a system he couldn't play in - i get that.  But there's a reason he plays for a good denmark team - he has certainly capabilities and one of them is that he's good with the ball at his feet - and that is crucial in the current system, so not really a great surprise.

Denmark didn't pick him because he wasn't playing regular football.

Which is because his performances for Leicester were so dreadful. Goes hand in hand.

If the manager really rated him, he’d still have played him. In much the same way Southgate does with Maguire.

& there are plenty of teams in this league who play a lot of direct stuff. Plenty of balls loaded into the box & he is nothing short of pathetic in the air, which is scandalous.

Don't get me wrong , I have no use for Vestergaard  & think he was a terrible purchase but to use Southgate as a managerial reference point is a travesty against all football.

Teams will turn him. Quick transition. Balls in the channel. Get him going back towards the goal. All well and good he can hit the occasional pass. But you’ve seen him in our team playing the likes of Legia, they will take the advantage in his lack of pace

He put up a bunch of photos on Instagram of his kids at the ground and 1 with him sitting with the 3 of them and it looked like he potentially had a protective boot on his left foot (you could only sort of see shin up but could make out the boot) he’s since removed that 1 picture lol it’s almost like we’re not allowed to know that he’s crocked

BS. Southgate picks Maguire as a mate based on him playing well for him at a tournament once. No other manager at international level does that and the Danish manager said months ahead of the world cup he wasn't picking anyone who wasn't starting at club level. Vestergaard had 3 or 4 bad games, got dropped and wasn't even in the squad most weeks, let alone starting. Unlike Southgate some of these guys actually stick to what they say.

We’ll know more today from the press conference but Tanner’s update is promising:

“The club have not given details of what is currently wrong with Coady, but Maresca has stated he fears it could be “not good”. It is, however, believed Coady is unlikely to be out for long beyond the first game.”

So what's with all the cloak and daggers? If he's only out for a few weeks then tell us!

There are no cloak and daggers. What are you expecting the club to say, exactly?

Wonder if a small bone is broken, wasn't he stood on? 4 - 6 weeks and we've already had 2, so training in 2-3, and playing in 3-4?? Total Guess, but did anyone on FT see the injury for a more informed estimate?
