I have winks benefit of doubt in the Dutchman saga, on the basis Winks had credit in the bank and the Dutchman had none.

Now, I'd love to see this thread closed. He's a stain on the club and his time here needs bleaching out.

Not sure how it works with his wages, but need roughly £1.6m for him in Jan to break even, based on his book value

Does anyone pay that?

Fortunately, we could let him go for free in January and be better off with his wages off the books come July for PSR. His book value is £1.6m but his £90k/week wages will cost us ~£4m from Jan-July.

Using those figures we'd be £2.4m better off if he ****s off in Jan. We could even pay him £1m to leave and still be better off than if we kept him.

This is what does my nut in about the 'book value' brigade. They forget you still have to pay the idiot if he's here. Who cares about the book value.

Don’t really care for him, Soumare and James are both better than him and Skipp is a £25m outlay that we need to invest time into.

I’m assuming this is  a joke stemming from the frustration of his alleged  bad attitude recently?

It’s just plan laughable to say soumare is better than him.

Surely not 90k in the Championship?

You also have to find a club prepared to pay him what we are, or that he is happy to accept a pay cut, otherwise we could end up having to foot the deficit.

The book value is important because you have to take it all into consideration, especially if you need/want to generate money to help bring in new players, or if you need to make sure you are compliant with PSR and avoid a potential breach and possible points deduction.

Those assuming he's off in January must have forgotten the rest of the Winks-esc players currently stinking out the gaff that is our outrageously inflated payroll.

Need I also remind you that we rejected between £3&6m about 4 transfer windows running for Dennis Praet to protect his "book value" only for us to pay him millions a year to not play him. For further evidence of financial idiocy in the selling players department, see the rejected bids of actual money for Patson Daka this summer.

Just because Winks is obviously a complete nightmare does not mean that the club have the brain cells required  to sell him appropriately.

The sales in the summer (Coady in particular) give me a glimmer of hope that we may have learned our lesson here.

Lets hope they dont ask Wrexham for reference to how signing our outcasts turns out....
