He was crap tonight but he must be shagged. I definitely think both he and Fatawu have been victims of us not recruiting another "proper" winger in January. We rely on them so much and when one (or both) aren't at it it's so noticeable. I don't think our set up helps either of them.

If striker plays bad, then we rely on wingers and if they play bad as well then we’re done.

Tough night for him last night, but the build up play was slow and he was doubled up on a lot of the time.

He's one of our match winners so can't really be dropped (rested) unfortunately.

He's been a fantastic signing and I still think he could do well in the PL - He just needs support...and ideally a player on the opposite wing who can carry the burden, which Yunus couldn't really do last night.

He's turned out to be an inspirated signing at a decent price, contributed more than many of us expected last sign.

Will be interesting to see how he does in the PL.

Yes he has, the sort of signing I think we wouldn't have looked at if we were in the PL but now has every chance of being a success at that level for us. Love him.

I don't think we would have sign him, Fatawu or Mads in the PL.

I enjoyed that finish the other day.

My biggest gripe with Stephy is his poor body language on the pitch when not going his way.

This season is going to be a grind so I hope Cooper has a word as it really impacted his game but often stayed on the pitch due to Enzo oddly only trusting 13/14 players by the end of the season.

What we saw from Mavididi last season was incredible footwork and super high confidence. He had dips in form but that's true of most wingers really, and he ended the season well.

He also worked his socks off, both offensively and defensively. I think, at times, that may have affected his energy levels during the more indifferent spells during the season.

The PL is going to be a different kettle of fish: fewer games, probably being rested for the early rounds of the cups, but fewer chances to take.

He's going to need to up his chance conversion rate, I think, and also become a little less selfish than he was early last season. I think he came on leaps and bounds during the campaign, but he'll need to step up again. His footwork and close control give him such an edge, but it's that decision-making afterwards that can be slightly improved - if I'm being hypercritical.

But his defensive contribution will be absolutely invaluable. His left-back, whoever it is, will surely be his best mate next season as his off-the-ball work is so good. If he can replicate that next season and slightly improve his efficiency in the final third, Mavididi can really go places in this coming year.

From about halfway through the year last year, if not earlier tbh, Fatawu and Mavididi were just getting double if not triple marked at times. They created a lot of fear in defences in the league.

Despite players generally having less time on the ball in the Prem as a whole, I think both our wingers will probably benefit from more space this year tbf.

Yeah that's a fair point. I also think they probably could have benefited from having more capable backups.

Akgun never really got going, McAteer never picked up from where he was before his injury and Wanya got very few chances.

After bringing De Cordova-Reid in, if we can also sign Soulé and blood Alves that could go some way towards keeping Fatawu and Mavididi fresh and therefore more effective while they're on the pitch.

Have to remember his tail off towards the end was likely down to the fact he has zero competition and was absolutely ****ing knackered lol

Well Enzo made sure enough players were frozen out so not many felt like they had competition. Pretty sure there were wingers who could have played if they were given enough chances in rotation.

Really looking forward to seeing how he fares this year.

He's got so much ability, so much so that his 18 G/A probably represents a slight underachievement for him at Championship level. Still found a lot of the stick he got on here at times to be utterly baffling.

Big season for him incoming.
