Lad thinks Sheff Wed are a bigger team than us

God save us from fans of underachieving big-city Yorkshire teams. "Chip on their shoulder" doesn't even get close.

How to change history

Get someone 'famous' to give their view of it.

Eden Hazard: "We had never lost to Tottenham at Stamford Bridge in 30 years. In that match, I was on the bench. I was watching the game when it became 1-0, then 2-0. I saw Kane and Son score.
Then, manager Guus Hiddink asked me to go warm up. It was my moment; I thought, 'now it’s my turn.' We couldn’t lose at home to Tottenham; if they won, they would be champions, and we couldn’t allow that. I had 45 minutes to give it my all.
When I touched the first ball, I realized it was going to be my day. Gary Cahill scored the first goal, and then the magic happened. Diego Costa passed the ball to me; I ran, and when the ball came to me, I just had to score.
I celebrated by sliding on my knees in front of the Tottenham fans. It was an immense joy. Thanks to that match, Leicester became champions, not Tottenham."
Eden Hazard’s memory of the famous "Battle of the Bridge." 👀

How is Dewsbury-Hall getting on? I've not been following Chelsea because I have a massive chip on my shoulder about them but I notice he's not in the squad today.

Same place as Chilwell: on the scrap-heap.

They will both be back.

They must have been awarding Spurs 11pts for winning that game.

Thought he would have been front and center for them. Sad - there's a player there and I think he enjoyed playing for us.

Idiotic move for him, no where near that level. Can only have been about the money

yeah but it was £30m we very much needed, was never going to play there though.

He plays in their Europa League team.

It was about the money yeah but primarily for us rather than him

Could have gone to Brighton tbf which would have suited him more.

He could but that would have meant turning down another crack at European football and the opportunity to reunite with the manager under whom he'd just had his best ever season, so I think it would be unfair to say the only possible motivation for choosing Chelsea is money. The impression I got was that he was not in any great hurry to leave regardless of the destination.

Am I wrong in thinking that Dewsbury Hall didn’t particularly want to go, it was more we needed him to?

There's no way he'd have turned down a move to Chelsea, even if we were in a financial position to keep him..

Every player has got to back themselves to push their career to its max, even if deep down they know they are a very capable mid table player rather than elite level.

He won't be back in January. He ain't gonna give in that easily.

I'm sure he wanted it but was more than happy to stay if it hadn't happened he wasn't actively trying to leave

He couldn't because Brighton wouldn't offer an acceptable fee.
