Why aren't we making actual substitutions in games?

Recommended Posts

Bringing Daka on for Vardy seemed an odd decision at that point. Im not a Daka hater like a few on here, but not really sure what Enzo thought he'd add to the game with the way it was finely balanced. Also not sure why Iheanacho gets overlooked on the bench when he's the only one who offers something a bit different our other strikers

Alarming how little we seem to change a game at the minute.

Even more sickening how we refuse to throw the kitchen sink at games to try win them.

Getting sick of this crap football at the minute, because for all “possession” and “control” the manager wants we don’t seem to create anything or even look comfortable with it.

I mean it's getting beyond ridiculous at this point.

Not to mention Daka scuffing yet another chance when he's yet again preferred over Cannon.

Hitting it 15 yards wide from 8 yards out take: some skill tbf - and of course his specialist boots 🥾

Daka was a sub right? Everyone is whinging about that.

Uses subs, everyone moans the subs are shit (Kasey Mac against Leeds for example)

Don't use subs, complains there are game changing subs on the bench.

Our bench is poor im afriad. Thats the problem.

Those 2 subs were poor, great example! Since when would Mcateer change a game? He's usually anonymous! Not only that, his dithering and not getting involved against Leeds was partly responsible for their goal.

Albrighton with balls into the box changes things from the norm. Playing two strikers with balls into the box changes things. Vardy, Iheanacho and Cannon, choose any two from three changes things.

Just sticking Daka or Mcateer on to do more of the same isn't changing things or a plan B.

100% this. McAteer gets dogs abuse whenever he comes on. Anyone that's stood in for Ndidi or replaced a midfielder - Praet, Choudhury, Akgun has been slagged off for not being good enough/effecting the game/closing down etc Doyle for Justin? "he's got no pace" "he gets caught out" "not been the same since he came back". Most people have issues with our bench players and what they offer. Maybe Enzo feels exactly the same. Maybe he sees we only have a cup game before the internationals and decides they can all last an extra few mins?

The only one that puzzles me is Cannon. Came in, scored goals, Daka arrives back, takes his place in the squad and stinks the place out with his horrendous finishing yet starts ahead of him every single week. Maybe he's in the shop window to generate a sale in a couple of months. Whatever it is, he's costing us points.

I personally think the manager is stuck in a bit of a rut and arguably is regretting his decision to join us.

Dont get promoted and you messed up with the most expensive squad in Championship history and get promoted and there’s not budget and a points deduction.

All the signs are pointing to a manager that is currently going through the motions right now. Doesnt know if hes coming or going. He’s in a rock and a hard place because at this early stage in his career he’s facing challenges that are no fault of his own.

Lack of flexibility in the tactics and lack of players that fit said tactics. Enzos style is great when it works but he needs to realise that teams have figured us out

Be careful some of our fans might call you a "football Neanderthal" like me. It's like we're not even allowed to post some constructive criticism re Enzo. What's more bizarre is that I think he's the perfect manager for us right now but nooo we can't state the fact he's having trouble to change his tactical approach mid game.

Rosenior today didn't make a single sub because he didn't want to mess with a plan which was actually working for his team. Enzo didn't even try to force Rosenior to make changes even though the team that needed drastic changes was ours. I'm completely baffled with Enzo's decisions and I see some BR patterns here right now.

You mean Daka, who came on as a substitute?

That one?

The game was screaming for Marcal today.

How? Most times he’s played he’s been completely bullied. I don’t see how it would have any different today.

When we don't win, we should pick anyone except the players who actually played.

Have to agree.

Rodgers esque when we are claiming to be so tired. He did it to prove a point though. Not sure what Enzo is doing.
