Sweepstake on how many times he says "football club" in his first interview with them? I reckon four figures minimum

They'll also have to ramp up the subtitles for the documentary. America won't have a clue what he says

It's a good move, local for him and we can move on from what was a really, really bad signing.

Wrexham close to agreeing Coady deal

Latest from Sky Sports News Anthony Joseph:

Wrexham are close to agreeing a £2m deal to sign Leicester centre-back Conor Coady.

Sky Sports News understands negotiations have accelerated today following the bid and talks are said to be progressing well.

There is a willingness from all parties to come an agreement soon.

Sky Sports News revealed last month that Rangers had made an approach for the England international.

Coady has one year left on his Leicester contract.

This is a move that genuinely sorts all parties. Big earner off the books, obviously good fit for the podcaster to join Disney, but on the pitch as well actually not a bad move for them really.

Don't quite get the level of hate for him but this a good move for all concerned. Think he would have looked a better signing if he didn't get injured in pre-season as definitely would have been first choice (and the knock on effect is that we might not have played JV and seen him get a 3 year contract) though we'd have overpaid even then.

Hope it's the first of many now

Totally agree.

I genuinely thought they’d struggle to attract the calibre of players they’ve been linked with/close to signing - kind of thought they’d hit there ceiling for a few years as Championship is a massive step up compared to the step to League 1 from League 2.

Could go either way, as we’ve seen with many sides that chase the players that are big names or slightly over the hill. Had kind of written them off as a threat (for this season) but starting to come around to thinking they’ll be pushing for the play offs now given the ambition they’re showing. Fair play to them, their fans must be loving it.

Best news all pre-season (Monga aside).

He was desperate to jump ship in January, and that says it all about the bloke. Been irritating watching him wear the armband in pre-season.

Good luck to him at Disney.

Hopefully he’s the first of the many . He’s one of the group of players here who have far too higher opinion of themselves which completely out ways their footballing abilities . These players are the same ones that take absolutely no accountability.

plus they play a back 3 and he has a natural fit in the middle of it

This is the main thing. We've never used coady to his strengths in a back 3.

Somehow used him in a back 2 that didn't suit his game. I bet he finds his form at Wrexham in a 3.

Are we actually about the sell a player in the last year of his contract

Plenty of time for Rudkin to get involved and bo**ocks the whole deal up

Good move for him, us, and Wrexham. I'm not averse to him staying vs Vestergaard, but him looking to leave in Jan left a bit of a sour taste in the mouth after all the talk of sticking with the team etc etc.

Good move all round, no doubt he will go there and be superb, but needs to move on from here, for whatever reason it just hasn’t worked here. If we can get some sort of fee and his full wages off the books then it’s a decent deal……one down just a few more to go

All started to go wrong for him when he got injured in pre-season when Enzo joined - never really recovered from that.

Good move for all parties

Other than that, he did well.
