When you consider that companies with genuine national and international recognition like Caterpillar, Barratts, Next, Walkers and Dunelm are all based in the county, it makes even less sense.

Stating the obvious but maybe any from this handful of large local companies...simply don't want to do it?

Heavily rumoured PepsiCo/Walkers did put a bid in this time but obvs not at a figure of BC Game.

Hence here we are with a load of toddlers leaving school earlier cos they are so upset.

A lot of mud slinging going on in this thread, meanwhile I've got an unconsolable one year old tearfully asking me "with the collapse of Before Christ Game in Curaçao, who will unite the passion of football with the innovation of crypto? I can't see any logical frontrunners"

How can I look her in the eye

Wait until she hears about Wout Faes multiplying the dumplings.

Show her this mate, should warm the cockles and bring the passion right back.

Walkers crisps.

Some these days would complain that it promotes unhealthy eating consumption etc, though.

I’ve heard that we’ve  replaced them with CB Game and hoping no one notices

on a more serious note, we all assume that the sponsorship is king powers money being moved around. I assume that the monies have to come from the ‘sponsor’s account’ and be available on a bank statement to show the auditors for the PL.   you do worry whether some of king power’s dosh may have gone awol somewhere along the line ……

Okay maybe it is but the levels to which they have benefitted from that period under Pearson cannot be underestimated. Yes, they chucked money at it but that was only a massive gamble to the club and not them. It is exactly the same as what Derby did and failed.

It's more an overreaction because of the way the media and a lot of our fans hype them up as something they clearly are not. It's a myth that we were so much better run under Vichai just because that's when most the success was. There was still absolute amateur stuff going on like removing Pearson before they come in, the awful appointments, the non sacking of Pearson.

Money loaned out bankrolled us, great. They weren't geniuses. And the real Top was exposed when we got relegated. A petulant man child with a chip on his shoulder.

I hate to think where we would be without Pearson and his team as the owners threw money at it (Sven) and it didn't work. Then we thankfully got promoted but even then had to pay the FFP fine.

Best appointment they ever made was getting Pearson back but even then he was known to the club.

Whatever the deal was, I presume KP can step in a match the terms if they need to.

Let's hope the club learn from this.

The owners are allowed to put a certain amount of cash in each season. This is a way of topping that up considerably.   If king power take over the sponsorship then they probably wouldn’t be able to stick in the other amount.  So we’ll be short on budget.

if they really have gone pop and taken peoples dosh then how culpable are the club for giving them a fair degree of reputability with the global reach of the PL ?

This is just the norm nowadays isn't it. Top to bottom shambles.

Is that Rudders' nickname now? Surprisingly polite.
