Partly, the problem is chopping and changing the managers so much. Or, more accurately, hiring a manager who has different philosophy to what the current  team has and then not giving him money to make the changes he needs . Ending up with square pegs in round holes. Or in skipp’s case, asking a bag of cement to run a marathon..

You got there in the end!

It just amazes you how bad he is. I've managed to reduce my expectations of this £25mil signing to being a steady 6/10 Championship player and he falls miles short of even that. He wouldn't start for Oxford.

He is. Callum Doyle levels of shit decision by the board. But way more pricey.

The price tag isn’t his fault, that’s on Rudkin for being a mug.

I’ll never understand why Cooper/Rudkin felt we needed him in the first place, so passive and now lacking at this level, our recruitment is abysmal.

Another 4 years on his contract left.

A shadow of the player he was 3/4 years ago at Norwich and Spurs. His pace and mobility seem completely shot, I don't know if it's injuries or total lack of confidence.

We can't keep making excuses for him, he's shit. Our only hope is Cooper gets a new job and takes him on loan. Up until then, we'll have to watch the nightmare that is Skipp and Soumare every week.

Made no sense when we signed him, we had little money and choose to spend that on a CM was odd as that was one area we were ok (for number at least), never mind 25 million for skipp.

almost as of it was some kind of PSR scam gone wrong. Leavy has rudkin on strings I think,

We did need another Defensive CM player BS and Hamza both not good enough sadly Skipp hasn't shown the form he had at Spurs

Of course I’m not suggesting we didn’t need a DM with Wilf injured at the time, perhaps it’s the way I’ve written it, I’m just confused as to why it was him and not someone else who had some bite.

He’s so passive like Soumare. He doesn’t even get anywhere near what Wilf could do, even when Ndidi lost form he offered more, he could play centre back, and was even tried further up the park with mixed results.

At Spurs he was still rating at 6.5/10 on average, passing accuracy up there with Winks back then but it’s dropped off and at a lower level too.

Spurs fans were telling us that he had a major injury that ruined his mobility, sadly Rudkin and co couldn't see that.

If we weren’t paying him so much I’d almost feel sorry for him. Looks completely knackered after 5 minutes, completely outran, no strength, shys away from the ball on occasions, offers nothing.

What on earth has happened to him?

He certainly is an enigma. Who knows if it's confidence, playing time, impact from injuries or something else?

Re: injuries, Spurs gave him a new five year deal after suffering from a long injury following his Norwich loan spell, so they must also have been pretty sure that he was fully recovered?

I think we saw the obvious flaws with Skipp against charlton. He’s ok on the ball but all he'll do is go sideways or backwards. He's not particularly quick or tall, he's not physical.  He's not a DM, he's not Box to Box, he's not an AM. He won't progress the ball or take initiative. He plays like he's trying to avoid making a mistake but that is not enough.  You cant have passengers in midfield because it's usually where the game is won or lost. You need presence, quality and conviction. Someone who demands the ball. I was prepared to give him a chance this season but I can't see him improving. The guy a wet lettuce, and not a regular starter... the sooner Marti realises this the better.
