I thought the recent fan channel interviews with Rob Tanner were very telling (if not a surprise) - suggesting Top was steadfast in his loyalty to Rudders due to the support he had given to him, his family over the years (especially the passing of Vichai).

That loyalty is very admirable, but it is a handbrake on the Club progressing. If Top can't see that as a *minimum* Rudders needs the support of a sporting director / someone to share the load then we are destined to repeat the same mistakes as in recent years.

Agree, I think loyalty is something lacking these days.

But by all means keep JR around but as you say appointment a new sporting director.

I know our situation is incomparable and nowhere near as bad.

BUT having said that there are similar comparisons in the sense that our chairman doesn't like any expression of disgruntlement from our fanbase. For example, the looks he sometimes gives SK1 and the UFS boys. I am not saying we will reach the state Sheffield Wednesday are in of course not but the fact that there are similarities there is not good at all.

I think the overriding thing about owners like Sheffield Wednesday have, Reading had and now us but obviously to a way lesser extent is the unwillingness to take accountability for things and a victim mentality. I am convinced our chairman thinks he does nothing wrong. For example, we haven't heard a thing from the internal review and tbh I have doubts about whether that even took place considering they did not release any findings.

What I don't get about this is that the managers who delivered the success and stability (Pearson, Ranieri, Shakespeare, Puel and Rodgers) were all sacked; some unfairly, some fairly, some reluctantly, some too late but all because they weren't doing well enough or we felt we could do better.

However, Rudkin and Whelan are part of two relegations, huge financial losses and yet still remain firmly in situ.

They've both, Rudkin in-particular, done a very good job of protecting their own positions. Tells me it can't really be performance based.

I do agree with you mate. But ultimately the top (no pun intended) ensures that the CEO does their job efficiently and held accountable. If the owner does his job correctly, then the rest should run like a well oiled machine, which it did under Vichai's hands on approach and ultimately, led to the clubs greatest chapter.

I'm not saying Rudkin and Whelan should not be held accountable, but Top is letting the club drift and in turn they become scapegoats because of it. The book stops with the owner IMO.

We are in agreement, the buck absolutely stops with the owner and the owner in this case is inept and not fit for purpose.

However, where the ceo cannot influence strategy and progress, she is absolutely not a scapegoat she is as inept and not fit for purpose as the owner - her cv currently reads significant drop in revenue, value and stability of asset with little or no strategy to change course. If she had an ounce of pride, believe me, if she has no real exec control, she leaves. She’s staying to milk the club of as much as she possibly can. That’s the only reason IF she isn’t incompetent. I’m giving her some credit in terms of her ethics to suggest she’s here for the ride because she’s inept and therefore not a user,

The state of this club at the moment is horrifying. 2 relegations in 3 years, a squad value that is diminishing, a season where we set a record for the number of games not scoring a goal at home, an impending points deduction, possible transfer restrictions or business plan and yet -

- Manager is still in role

- DoF looks so entrenched he will only leave when he decides to retire

- Head of recruitment who has tanked in 3 of 4 windows we have been active in since he joined.

- A CEO no longer fit for purpose and is slowly eroding the disconnect between club and its supporters

- An owner who know treats us as customers and would rather fill the ground with day trippers, influencers and his mates. We are nothing more than a vanity project.

not one of the above has left and if one does go it will be the manager, whilst the rest continue to destroy the club from the inside. I am sorry but whilst we may not be in Chansiri or Yongee territory just yet, we ain’t far away from it and make no mistake the continued distain shown to the fans and  this ongoing stubbornness and refusal to communicate, accept any accountability or responsibility for what has been an utter shit show these last 3/4 years, suggests nothing is going to improve in the future, they will continue to double down.

The lack of any formal announcement or statement regards relegation is a complete lack of respect towards its fanbase. The charade with RvN is absolutely amateurish and shows the level of incompetence currently running this club.

We need systemic change and quick as honestly I can only see a long hard stint in the EFL and a club ending up on its arse.

We have one roll of the dice left and that is to completely reset bring in new fresh ideas and a progressive DoF, Head Coach and Head of Recruitment, focus on young hungry players and our academy prospects.

So very true 👍
