Football was different then, there was the established top 6 that won almost all the titles.

To win the Premier League was like winning the lottery, squandering the millions isn’t ok because we used to have nothing. We’ve had over £1,000,000,000 in income under Top’s tenure and we’ve lost about £400m.

Sp many unforced errors because he’s just not bothered or he’s thick. Either way he’s not cut out to run the club.

Spot on.

It’s the PL money that makes our fall from grace so horrendous.

Great post btw!!

I’ve likened us to Michael Carroll so many times, but I’m not sure many people remember him

Before my time I think.

An under discussed thing is Top has been here and see exactly what made us successful in the first instance. The type of character, the systems, processes, effort, recruitment.

If you were trying to covertly sabotage a club he’s pretty much done the same things

I was at the old firm game on Saturday and they have a bit of a situation similar to us. Fans divided over the board. Everyone wants the manager gone and the recruitment just hasn't been good enough.

The fans really were furious. Chants against the board and protests afterwards were quite vicious. Some fans even supporting the board but were outnumbered. Interestingly they had banned the green army from the game....a section of supporters who drum and make noise etc.

Today the manager has been sacked and it's no surprise. When the second goal went in there were police officers who came and stood in the dugout.

My view is protests and anger do work but we are nowhere near on the same level in terms of passion and anger.....certainly not vocally.

100%.

Not to mention the errors made are extremely amateur… hence why we’re up a creek.

This could be posted about us as well more or less.

I wonder if the wider football community will be OK with their fans protesting their ownership or not.

The general feeling from what I've seen is Wolves, Norwich (💀), Man Utd are OK, we're somehow not OK.

Obviously I know what to expect and it’s complety my fault for even thinking this but day 6 in the transfer window and I find it baffling that we are just not doing anything at all.  Winks, soumare, faes, daka should be gone by any means. The board should be replaced already with new tech director etc and vision/plan in place. A LB, striker, should be already in, even on loan. Ramsey should be sent back to find someone who can play.

I know things are slow in football but I still find it crazy that not ONE of these things is done or even seems close. I hate everything about king power, to the point where I was genuinly annoyed we scored a winner the other night. Crazy to think that how it makes you feel.

In the normal footballing world - yes to all of the above happening. In Leicester City world - not a chance of any of it happening, ever!

The soul selling thing is a key point with West Ham.

The camera panned to an old fella, 70's probably, no one sitting near him, staring out into that soulless ground. Probably remembering all the nights at Upton Park, even shit losses, that must have felt so much better than last night.

West Ham fans have been fvcked over massively. To move from such a great ground to something so soulless is horrific. Worse ground move in English football. I don't think I could go there every other week for home games, I've been twice and it is truly the worse excuse for a football ground.

It's mad really when you think the Etihad used to be an athletics stadium. But Man City realised it needed to be transformed before moving in.

West Ham just took the cheap rent, don't make any changes option.

In fairness, on the general type football pages on FB for example, among the entitled comments (of which there seem less) I noticed a number of supporters of other clubs asking what has happened at our club to cause this fall. I think most of the entitled comments are from rival fans, general idiots or trolls.

Unfortunately, there were fans of ours giving context and explanations about it and then you get the KP lot jumping on it telling other fans that we are happy with things and it’s a small amount of our fanbase being entitled and thinking we should be in Europe and winning trophies every year.

This is why I can’t stand KPFC fans. The outright lies. The pulling down of our club. The propaganda they operate on behalf of Aiyawatt. Who literally expects us to be winning trophies and competing in Europe every season? What we do expect is not to be bottom of the distance covered and sprinting stats (I.e basic effort) in the second tier.

It’s embarrassing and you can’t blame other fans if they get that impression when some of our own so called supporters are spreading this misinformation.

All I'd say is that publicly available information has next to no relation to what's actually going on behind closed doors though, right?

No. Sadly the club wont publicly state they are doing nothing behind closed doors.

Believe it or not, over £300m of tax-payers money was spent turning it into the worst football stadium in the world.

Yep - really terrible long-term planning alongside a bloody determination to retain it for athletics use.

In the day and age where making a stadium a 365 day money maker Spurs a leader in this. Whilst WHU owners were penny pinching to pay just £3m rent a year and get taxpayers to pay £250m to renovate the stadium as they had LLDC by the balls, Spurs were splashing £1bn-ish on a brand new stadium that makes them so much money in matchday income, deals with the NFL, prime concert venue etc.

So what we do instead is compare previous January windows and assume the same as

The fact that West Ham have bought two strikers for forty million ish quid combined this week is insane to me.

Both of them looked absolutely garbage last night.

It’s not just about the soulless aspect of the ground though, that move allowed them to be the 9th biggest spenders in the league over the last 5 years. The fans were not complaining when they won their  first European cup in 50 odd years. It’s just another case of poor boardroom level decisions and how they have wasted money on players.
