No matter how much or little I do in a year, I usually end up on NYE regretting yet another year of total failure. But, weirdly and more positively, am always convinced next year will be better. I live in a permanent state of 'jam tomorrow'

Anyways,.I'm looking forward to paying the mortgage off .. subject to a couple of bits falling into place - and in doing so, frees me up career and location wise.

Graduating at the QEII centre in Westminster in January.

Seeing the Australian Pink Floyd in October at the Demont; also taking my mum to see ABBA Voyage.

I'm fairly convinced I'll go and see Oasis despite failing to get a ticket. I'll find a way. I'm sure of it.

Definitely need a holiday at some point.

On a personal level, hopefully getting onto the property ladder.

On a nonpersonal level, simply seeing a sign that the next decade or two won't become firstly very difficult and then in some cases terminally difficult, first for people in far-flung places and marginalised communities, and then for everyone. In short, a sign that we're not following the timeline of Years and Years just a little later.

Although I do (at times) find you a hard read, I would like to point out that if you're paying your mortgage off, you are in no way  a 'total failure'. Sounds like you judge yourself hard.

I'm starting a new role next week on secondment within the company I've worked for since I was 18. It was my first ever job, nearly 15 years ago now. Made zero career progression until recently (took a pay cut to get a better role), and now I get to travel the country doing pretty much **** all for a few months with a pay bump and all expenses covered. The role I'm currently in has absolutely no progression options, whereas this new one can potentially open up many different avenues. Get to visit some beautiful places including Doncaster and Middlesborough, staying there for a week at a time. Should be fun.
