Beat me to it.

And several stonewall pens turned down.

The only match I've ever been to where I think I witnessed corruption rather than incompetence from the officials.

Yep, got done for it later on didn’t he.

Atletico Madrid at home.  O'Neil era.

Didn't that ref get done for corruption or something.

That always gets sensationalised in people's minds.

It was a terrible, abhorrent display but he wasn't charged with corruption. He refereed in the competition the next season. He may have been removed from later dates in that year's competition.

I think that O'Niell raised the corruption remark and it stuck.

Ederson wiping out Kel was worse than this.

What was worse for me, was all the pundits agreeing with the decision not to award the penalty as De Bruyne has a right to protect his face, I thought I was tripping at the time, could be said this cost us top 4

I’m still fuming about the Guimares foul on Soumare early in our 0-0 draw at the end of relegation season.

Was a stonewall red card about 5 mins in, if we had gone on to win that game we would have stayed up

On the back of this. High feet are punishable. At what point is a keeper punching? Especially with some of the distances and jumping through the air they do too.

It's probably happened recently but when was the last time a keeper was punished for coming out and punching then clearing a player up?

The penalty that Speedie got for Blackburn was as soft as they come in the 92 play off final.

But Mike Reid giving Chelsea a penalty for Erland Johnson’s dive was the worst, I was there that night and was so incensed I got very close to grabbing Franck Lebouef at the end when he squirted the contents of his Lucozade bottle over a few of us and the stewards holding us back. B**tard!

Rumour has it a few Leicester fans went for Reid in his car on the Kings Road about an hour after the game!

I remain outraged by Jon (make it up as I go along as I understand the game beyond the rules as a limited ex-semi-pro) Moss sending Vardy off on a second yellow for a dive following full body contact when the rules were that yellow cards should not be issued if there was contact.

He was removed after the game from the UEFA list. Martin o’Neil described the game as “the game we could not win” and UEFA agreed.

The fact that he was taken off the list and MON was not charged for his comments. It is the one game that I would say was fixed, there’s lots of examples of crap referring and poor mistakes, but everything about that night was corrupt.

Im sure Remy Harrel was charged years later for other offences not related to that game.

Not getting a penalty for that handball in the league cup semi final at Villa still annoys me.

I’m sure it came out VAR looked at the wrong clip too which makes it worse.

Ball hits Big Wes square in the face. Penalty.

Was my first thought (but so many Erland, Izzet v Athletico etc etc).  Wasn't that at Anfield during the Great Escape season?

I don't see how that can be an argument when heading the ball is part of the game.  Ridiculous.

Mane taking another 70 steps after contact and then chucking himself to the floor for a penalty and we lose 2-1 at Anfield, think it was under Puel
