Wrexham have signed yet another Championship journeyman in Kieffer Moore.

Their policy has always been to sign players who are at the level above of the current league they're in.

...they have abandoned this based on their signings so far this season lol

...Did you expect them to suddenly start signing PL players?

Danny Ward is a proven Premier League keeper.

Sky clearly expecting great things from us! Personally I’m feeling a lot more optimistic about our chances than most pundits.

An absolutely absurd conclusion there.

Had Sheffield United matched the record points deduction set by Luton in 2009 (30 points,) they'd have finished 12th. They'd have to break all points deduction records against us for relegation to even be on the table.

This is a perfect illustration of what I described above. They’ve taken a vague notion of a threatened points deduction and through some bizarre process of alchemy turned it into a prediction that our aim this season will be to avoid relegation. The only that could be the case were if we were facing 40-point deduction, whereas in reality it will likely be 4-7 and a maximum of 9. In other words, even the worst case scenario we could still go up automatically, and should absolutely be aiming for the play-offs at least. The absence of actual thought in these predictions is mind boggling.

If it's the higher end of single figures (and it will be single figures,) then play-offs are an expectation rather than an aim. Fewer than six, and it has to be a push for autos.

So, points deduction or not - for LCFC?

When's the verdict due?

It'd be nice to see Man City demoted to League One..

It all seems very quiet on this matter.

It’s possible the panel won’t sit until the end of the year or early next year, let alone deliver its verdict. And then of course we may appeal. So it may not be until early late winter/early spring next year that we know what it’s going to be.

They aren't bad signings for stability. I think they've realised quickly that getting promoted to the PL is going to be a pipedream at this point, at least this season. Cementing their status in the Champ to build on is the smart way to go!

Did they genuinely think they could do non league to top flight in successive seasons and not hit roadblocks?

There are some absolutely massive clubs in the Championship - clubs that have won FA Cups, English league titles and European honours. They're a bunch of nobodies going nowhere who got given a rocket out of the gutter.

It's absolutely lovely that Mac has connected with Wales and seems actually invested but be realistic and grateful for the relative ease at which they've climbed.

I can see this seasons championship being a bit more competitive than usual.

Im sure there will be a big divide somewhere in the middle, but I can see it being a good battle up top.

Birmingham look to be putting something good together.

Hate to be that guy, but id love Wrexhams little fairytale to crumble.

We'll have good insight by 2:30pm Saturday to be fair with Birmingham up first on Friday and Southampton vs Wrexham early Saturday.

When you look at Southampton and Ipswich's first games we really have done well. Whether or not those two teams can lay a glove on them remains to be seen, but the noise that will be around both fixtures from Sky will be enough to put any newly relegated side off!

We’re going to finish at least 20 points ahead of Birmingham & Wrexham imho

Wrexham wont be up there at all, but Birmingham might well be as they seem to have assembled a pretty strong squad however what sets us apart currently is the game changers like Fatawu, Mavididi, Bilal etc on their days which is what sets the top teams apart in the prem when you think of the game changers Liverpool Man city have above the other top 6 teams which is where the extra points and fine margains come from. (In a very loose lower level comparison)

Doesn’t look like BEK will stay with us much longer but I agree on Fatawu, Mavididi (and possibly Monga!).
