Marti Cifuentes' points per game (PPG) record in his managerial career varies depending on the specific club and time period. At QPR, his PPG was 1.30. In the Danish Superliga with AaB, he achieved a PPG of 1.51. His overall career average, across multiple clubs and leagues, is 1.49 according to Sofascore.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • QPR: 1.30 PPG (based on 82 matches: 28 wins, 23 draws, 31 losses).

  • AaB (Denmark): 1.51 PPG (in the Danish Superliga).

  • Overall career average: 1.49 PPG (across various clubs and leagues) according to Sofascore.

  • Hammarby IF (Sweden): 1.81 PPG according to Sofascore.

  • Sandefjord Fotball (Norway): 1.53 PPG according to Sofascore.

Martí Cifuentes' preferred style of play emphasizes possession, pressing, and positioning, which he refers to as the "three Ps". He aims to use possession as a tool to control the game, create chances, and find space. He also wants his team to press aggressively when they lose the ball, aiming to win it back quickly and launch attacks. Good positioning is crucial for creating better situations on the ball. He also favors attacking with bravery and a desire to score multiple goals.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • Possession-Based:
Cifuentes prioritizes keeping the ball and using it effectively to control the game and create opportunities.

  • Aggressive Pressing:
He wants his players to win the ball back quickly when they lose it, disrupting the opponent's play and initiating attacks.

  • Strategic Positioning:
Cifuentes believes that good positioning on the field is essential for both offensive and defensive phases of play, allowing players to execute actions effectively.

  • Attacking Mindset:
He encourages his players to be brave and proactive in attack, looking to score goals and dominate the game.

  • Adaptability:
While he has a clear tactical philosophy, Cifuentes is also known for adapting his approach based on the opponent and the players available. He might adjust formations or tactics to exploit weaknesses or counteract specific strengths.

  • Vertical and Diagonal Runs:
Cifuentes's teams often utilize vertical and diagonal runs to attack the opponent's backline, creating space and opportunities through combinations like 1-2s and third-man runs.

  • Exploiting Space:
He looks for opportunities to exploit space created by the opponent's defensive positioning, particularly in wide areas and between the lines.

  • Mid-Block Defending:
When not pressing high, Cifuentes's teams often utilize a mid-block, minimizing gaps between the lines and waiting for pressing triggers to initiate a more aggressive press.

If it's a straight shootout between Cifuentes and Röhl, you can't be too disappointed. Both had about £1.36 to work with and did decent jobs.

It feels like Horce-racing; at one moment someone is leading, then at another someone else is..

More like a donkey derby!

I like it. When I went Hammarby earlier this year, they rave about him in the same way we do with Pearson. QPR obviously something happened but for me there’s more legs him creating something here than many others

I can guarantee the only reason we're appointing him is because he's Spanish. If he did the exact same at QPR but was English we wouldn't be bothering.

English managers don't play the same way as Spanish managers though so unlikely, its all about the culture.

I would prefer Rohl but wouldn't mind this guy even though I know absolutely nothing about him.

The chap who sits next to me at work is a QPR fan and absolutely raves about him. He was gutted when he fell out with the chairman and was put on gardening leave.

"I dunno, Top, I still think they'll be disappointed with Cifuentes. Not exaclty a coup."

"Don't worry, Jon, I'm going to tell Sky Sports it's Gary O'****ing Neil. By Wednesday they'll be happy with anyone."
