I went to the fifa museum in Zurich on Sunday.

They are fairly trying to big up the tournament as something special and have a dedicated section with all of the kits of the clubs taking part.

A young Egyptian lad was getting all excited and proud when he saw his teams kit on show, so perhaps it's a big deal for some of the clubs from other countries.

Not to sound like Pep but players don't get a rest do they. We've just had International games, straight after the season ends, and now we're onto this pointless Club World Cup "competition".

Players should all be resting ahead of the new season, which will come round really soon.

Different organisations, isn't it? FA, other national associations, UEFA and FIFA all wanting their share of the cash. Players are then flogged but with £100 million available, the clubs will take part.

I think everyone bar Europe are excited for it. The whole of the Brazilian top flight has been rescheduled to give its four representatives the best chance in games.

Obviously people wrote off the World Cup initially, the difference with this though is that really it’s only about the money.

The money means something to clubs in Brazil and other places. Saudi it means nothing and in Europe it's just a PSR top up.

Mlght as well just have the super league !

It pretty much is at this point already. Even the way of qualifying for it was mental. Then FIFA had to find a way to get Messi in it, so just made a rule that Inter Miami instantly get straight in.

taking the piss, absolutely dire atmosphere and standard.

Tickets are unsurprisingly cheap for these matches. I've heard of people who bought into the advance ticket packages, and are now regretting it. The second hand ticket market for the first round matches near us is far lower than what FIFA wanted. Might grab some tickets an hour before kickoff, if the market bottoms out.

It's a shambles and shouldn't be taking place but I do think its going to be something people are going to be desperate to dislike but end up enjoying it. I'm not going to organise my life to watch any of it but if I'm doing nothing else I will probably chuck it on.

Strap in for a month's worth of near pointless matches.

Thank god we got rid of FA cup replays to save the players eh?

Yep. No interest in another money grabbing tournament. Stinks when cup replays that would largely benefit smaller clubs are binned.

The MLS wanted to send their actual champions but FIFA ignored it. Lionel Messi is more of a draw and everyone knows what this is about.

FIFA's unchecked greed knows no bounds. Expansionist nonsense.

There's no momentum or excitement for this thing.

Infantino is a ****.

Checks out.

By comparison if you stuck the proper world cup in England even a Jordan v Honduras group match would sell out somewhere like Villa Park

Is Infantino worse than Blatter?

Until he makes "United Passions II - This Time It's got Oil Money ", no.

Watching the Bayern v Auckland City, why? I don't know... nothing else I guess lol Two teams on paper that are gulf apart. It's a bit like a Premier League team v a southern league side, all the Auckland players have normal jobs and have had to book all their works annual leave to be at this tournament. Interesting enough Auckland City aren't the biggest football club in Auckland.

Sadly this could be a cricket score, 20 minutes and 0-3 down. Bayern aren't even running either.

Make that 4! oh dear. Shame as the first 15 minutes Auckland City actually looked okay and holding their own.

What a joke this is. To someone’s point earlier, the rest of the world ****ing love it too. Still hear from my Brazilian mates how Flamengo beat Liverpool once. Just couldn’t get their heads around the fact that Europe doesn’t care.

Superior player of the match. Trying to sound more important than all other games.
