This tournament defines the current state of the sport. GREED. There's only one answer to this joke: Empty stadiums. Next season. Every single fan of PL must boycott all games. Let them play in empty stadiums. They can do it, they've alreafy done it during the farce of pandemic.

You see this tournament, this is the start of the end of football. It will grow and grow and grow and before you know it the world super League will be born.

Clubs will start to boycott their leagues to play in this farce.

First decent game up next then, have a US stream on, they're using Freed From Desire as the programme theme music, absolutely tired of it by this point.

Flipped it over to the Mexican TV network a while ago too, they were covering it over an hour before KO. They're pushing this big time.

The atmosphere were in the Bayern and Auckland game was terrible, I don't think many actual fans from Germany actually travelled most were just Bayern fans who now live Stateside. Felt too much like a pre-season tour atmosphere.

That’s exactly what it is. No-one cares other than those that sit on X behind HaalandSZN accounts.

The whole tournament is a farce, players can’t be arsed, half the tickets have been given away. Let the players have a rest.

I've always sort of liked the idea of being able to play other confederations in competitive games but I don't really see how you can really achieve it in a way that suits everyone.

Im normally critical of players/managers that moan about too much game time whilst getting paid vast amounts of money. But even i think this is a step too far. Players really are going too suffer with all these extra games. Euros, World Cup, Nations league and now this. Its just constant, there is no rest bite. Always thought Blatter was a greedy ****. Its just a shame hes been replaced with a greedier ****.

Why are they pretending Oceania - literally a bunch of small relatively low population islands where football isn't even the main sport - should have a place in this competition?  Nuts.

The media will make stories out of the results and predictions made no doubt particularly on new players .

Apparently the South American fans are out in force as this means so much to them.

Yeh Boca in the Miami sunshine today, that will be a very fun away day, imagine pre-match drinking at Nikki beach club. Could even compare to when we went to Randers in February.

I wont surprised come the next tournament they will push for a 48 team club world cup. Just so they can make sure more of Europe's big names feature, theyll desperate to find loophole to get likes of Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spuds involved. Maybe even Celtic and Rangers due to their high level of support they bring.

For me the only way get this to work you would need to withdraw a tournament to go in its place. Instead of the fifa world cup every four years, change it to every eight years and but the club world cup in that gap. However saying that id still much rather have fifa world cup and euros over this.

Because excluding their federation surely goes against the spirit of a world event?

80,000 yesterday watched PSG v Atletico Madrid....

Now it's time for LA v Chelsea... stadium full of empty seats looks only like 10k there. Damn that's embarrassing!

It's 3pm on a Monday in Atlanta. It was never going to be full but I thought there would be more in the stadium than this.

Maybe it's the sound balance on the broadcast, but the atmosphere reminds me of when we watched games in the Covid era with the added crowd noise which was like ambient noise in the background.

Eerie.

Makes you think was USA the perfect location to host this first revamped tournament, should it have gone somewhere football is the main sport. Likes of England, Germany, Italy, France, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Mexico. At least the stadiums would have been more full or least half full.

Why? People at work and kids are at school or college, do you think that LA supporters are going to travel all the way to Atlanta
