Pu55yman_Dan on X has managed to make an insensitive reply to an LCFC post about this, one of the most unfunny accounts going - I'm not one to be offended by much but getting likes for this is pathetic.

He's been hounded in the replies and rightly so, what a pr*ck.

Used to hate seeing him play against us. He loved a goal against Leicester.

Very sad news. RIP

Is it awful that the first thing I thought of was his penalty against us in the 1/4 finals of the League Cup.

Yeah absolutely no need for it.

Can be funny sometimes but doesn't draw the line others, sometimes I do wonder if he ever gets bored of his chronically online created character lol

Had to double take. I know it can happen to anyone but you never, ever expect anything like this with a sportsman in their prime.

RIP.

I saw Liverpool were doing a 1 minute silence in training… is it just me or is it not crazy that they’ve even gone in today?

I would have thought they’d all be given time to grieve

R.I.P. so sad. Can't say enough for his new wife and kids. But his mum n dad have lost two sons. So sorry for them.

So glad we are all showing respect. Brings back thoughts of Vichai.

True, but sometimes being together as your team can be a positive thing.

Apparently they were trying to over-take another vehicle.

Could be that they were taking a risk that ended tragically.

Shocking.. :(

This is life isn't, it; no-one expects this sort of thing to happen, and shows that life can be fragile.

It could also be that there was clear road ahead and the overtake was safe.

You can't reasonably predict mechanical failure.

Tragic for any young family to lose a dad in tragic and unpredictable circumstances and I feel for them. :(

He was a warrior, who always loved playing against us, right from his days at Porto when he scored the last goal in a 5-0 win against a virtual City B team.

He then moved to Wolves, where he destroyed a City defence featuring Harry Maguire, Jonny Evans and Wes Morgan. In the process he became only the second Portugal player (after CR7) to score a Premier League hat-trick.

But he'll be remembered most for THAT League Cup tie at Anfield, when we went 3-1 up and looked to be cruising to the semi-finals. He had other ideas, though, spearheading a fightback which saw Liverpool level the game in stoppage time and then win the subsequent penalty shootout.

As Luke Thomas found out that night, Jota could be a master of the dark arts at times. But he was the type of player that every fan would want to wear their club's shirt.

His last-ever game saw Portugal beat Spain to clinch the Nations League.  He was enjoying the best summer of his life - until it was ended suddenly and abruptly.

His loss will be felt throughout football - and, indeed, the world.

RIP. 😟
