Also those teams playing them should they subsequently fold, will end up playing one extra game, which could have implications regarding injuries and schedules.

It would be an absolute mess because the game would have been played in a de facto sense but not de jure. Say one of our players was injured by a horror tackle and the game was then voided. This potentially means points lost, goals scored being removed from the GD and an injured player with no recourse because the game technically never existed. Then imagine we lose out on automatic promotion by two points and lose in the play-offs. Nick De Marco would have the EFL on toast.

If the EFL aren't 100% confident that Sheffield Wednesday can complete the season, the game next Sunday won't be played.

The prospect of starting Ayew as our first choice striker makes me want to vomit in my mouth, but the knowledge that it might be our best option will probably ensure that it will quickly become projectile

I've made peace with it if those around him can press relentlessly and he does his bit holding the ball up and finding space to score regularly.

It's not what I'd want long term ambition i really hope we sign a more complete forward who is quick, presses well, holds the ball up and is a handy finisher. However, central midfield for me is the priority, it honks.

He seems to score goals. There was a bit of falling over - but on the whole he was ok today.

My experience is very different. Very working class, honest people. I have never come across any that are arrogant or delusional.

I notice some are showing themselves up on social media laughing at the Wednesday situation but apparently Wednesday fans mocked Rotherham when they were on the brink so all fan bases have a portion of idiots.

Personally I don’t want any clubs to go bust but would enjoy a relegation or few from the likes of Forest, Coventry and Birmingham.

We always get dogs abuse from Rotherham (they absolutely hate our guts by the way) when they were on the brink but almost all of them seem to have forgotten that Wednesday fans held buckets and collected donations for them at Hillsborough to help save Rotherham.

Completely agree with the Wednesday fan on BBC Breakfast. Football club owners might be the controllers of a club's legal identity, but you can't truly own a football club. Ability to control a club should be facilitated via a license which can be rescinded.

100% agree and it should be down to the fans to decide that at quarterly meetings.

I do get this and something needs to happen.

But I also fail to see how it works. Who would ever buy a club?

They are not a business to us they are a life sentence. We are stuck with it and have no way out. But if you've just paid 100m and not a supporter it's a business. And sad as it is to a point (obviously psr bought in to stop this kind of thing) they are entitled to run it as they see fit.

No one can force them out or make them accept an offer.

Us and Wednesday both have typical Far East owners. They do just what they want without a care for us.

Man C Hull Cardiff Wednesday and us. Never wanted them and expected this from the start. Thankfully for us it worked well for us in the beginning.

I have a lot of time for Sheffield Wednesday and it’s really sad what is happening there.

I remember in 07/08 we played them right near the end of the season. If memory serves if we’d won we’d be all but safe however if we lost we were basically down as we had Stoke away on the final day and they were flying. Lo and behold we lose 3-1 at home (we were utter dogshit), I was at Leicester train station after the game and it was packed full of Wednesday fans and I feared the worst. They were the soundest away fans I’ve ever met, they basically said they know what we’re going through and hopefully you can bounce back from League One and just enjoy some different away days and we were a great club. I know each club has good and bad supporters and I was lucky to bump into some decent lads but you can only judge based on what you’ve seen and I’ve always thought of them positively since then

I really hope they manage to get out of this mess and the club can move on to better things

yeah hume missed a pen to make it 2-2 and then Marcus Tudgay (i think) scored a late lob to make it 1-3 to them.

the rest is history though.

I know and I agree but who else?

I'd love to have Alves or someone else in there but I jsut haven't seen enough of anyone else - I think Winks and Skip won't work and Wilf's on his way

Yes the player were giving it the 'You're the man' when he came on Vs Ipswich away last year so he must continually show signs in training that he has real ability.

To be honest my team was based on availability, what I've seen in pre season and some of what I think Marti will select.

I agree that I'd have had Soumare gone at least 2 seasons ago but in a 3 in midfield I think he'll get the nod

And me, they’re a good set of fans, never met a Wednesday fan that I haven’t had a good chat about football with. It’s a crying shame to see what’s happening to frankly, a great club.

Fully expect us to line up as we did yesterday.

Maybe Stol for Hermansen if his move to West Ham moves further along.

Sheff Wednesday might be an utter basket case but they will have a starting 11 that have all been in the squad last season. Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s a tough 1st half but the lack of pre-season should hit them 2nd half.

They have had a pre season.
