This kid isn't as good as people make out.

He’ll be okay in League 1 (hopefully).

Don’t say that! I criticised him once and nearly got lynched.

Thought he was poor tbh. Far too casual on the ball, and allows strikers to peel off him too easily.

Having said that, the environment at the club isnt conducive to success. He'd benefit hugely from having a steady presence or leader alongside him, which none of our other defenders are.

Last post in here was in January! Thought he was very good last night overall. Looks to have everything to have a career as a Prem player. His contract is such a shame as I can see no scenario that he’s still here next season.

Needs to improve aerially, he misjudges a lot of headers and heads them sideways and backwards which brings pressure onto us, also noticed two occasions where he ran into the back of another of our players and one of the two came away limping- needs to be more assertive. Having said that he is a top talent

Would be even better if he was aware of the attacking players position and tried to block them instead of just running towards our 6 yard line and leaving unmarked players

What about against Stoke? He doesn't have any pace and jogs with no purpose, not to mention his heading and strength 1 v 1. He can block but not seen anything to justify the hype. He's part of a defence that hasn't kept a clean sheet in about 15 years so that says it all really.

People forget that his 21 and playing alongside Okoli.

He need to playing along side a Morgan, Huth or Evans type player.

People are too quick to get into him, he's a kid having to lead a defence, he has probably 3-4 years to get to his prime.

He'll play every game under Rowett, who clearly trusts him from his time at Oxford. And last night was his best performance since December, which is promising stuff. Shame his defensive partner cost us (again).

It's purely a matter of who partners him. Surely it'll be Vestergaard and/or then Lascelles once fitness allows? I've given up hope that we see Souttar back in a Leicester shirt.

Think he looked a lot better when he first came into the side. Now that could’ve just been because he was a fresh face and we were desperate for someone else.

I don’t think he’s been as bad as some have made out but also think he’s had some horror shows. Suppose I’m just describing a youngish CB in a crap side.

First half at Coventry I thought he was really good, same with first half against Southampton then when things get chaotic he loses his head a bit and then things go to shit. Derby away was another really good game I felt.

Bottom line is he’s been part of a defence that hasn’t kept a clean sheet since 2012 and made errors. The way he deals with balls in the air baffles me at times.

Still think the potential is there though.. maybe I’m wrong! We shall see

Im not sure he's the sort of player that will turn out like a John Stones type of ball playing defender who can drive into midfield, so having Gary Rowett in focusing on a simpler style of defending will suit him massively, I wouldn't be surprised to see become well clear of every defender bar Lascelles come the end of the season, which will no doubt trigger a transfer.

Agree with all that.

Cant think of a time when ive watched him and thought he was any better than anyone else in the back line.

I guess the only difference with him is that hes the only one that hasn't reached their ceiling.

Fair enough you don't rate him, but this whole he doesn't have any pace thing is absolute bollocks. No, he's not Micky Van de Ven, but he's plenty quick enough.
