If the managerial merry-go-round’s getting you down, take solace in the fact we’ll always have Jon Rudkin there directing our football.

Yes the board has got us in this situation .

Yes the squad is bad.

BUT not this bad. This squad is better than this.
We need someone who these players will respect and hopefully scared off!!!

Focussing on the manager takes the focus off the actual problem - the board and the ownership. They'll just pay him off and replace him with another possession without purpose manager. We'll be 2m quid lighter and no better off whilst the faceless bods in the boardroom get let off again.

The Rudkin chants are quieter now than they were after one game. This is like the Martin Allen season. Manager after manager couldn't take away from the fact the club was in need of a major reset at the top.

Blame the players all you like but this Manager is way out of his depth running a club like us in our situation. Should never have got the job in the first place and shouldn’t stay a day longer.

It’s both the board, players and marti’s fault. Mainly players and board. But we have hired a bang average manager who is a yes man, hasn’t got any nails about him which is what we need in this situation and hasn’t achieved an ounce of success anywhere. No idea why we went for him but he is massively out his depth

we are in a really, really bad place. Printing money if you had us to go down at start of the season I just cannot see how we don’t?

Most of the culprits won’t be with us next year when we are in league 1

This season had to be a rebuild season where we restructured the squad around the academy and he has failed to deliver.

That being said the worst thing we can do now is to sack him and bring in a new manager that tries to get a tune out of the senior pros. Obviously the best case scenario is we bring in a manager who favours the academy from the outset but I dont trust King Power to hire a manager without a 'win now' mission statement.

The second best case scenario is we stick with Marti who is seeing how bad this squad really is and if he isnt stupid he's starting to understand that we're not going up and a rebuild is required and starts to play the academy talents more.

How has Mavididi not scored, a decent striker and we probably win today 3-0. Should have been 2-0 up in 5 minutes and then you control the game and possession from there you can't blame Marti for some of it today, I'd have to give Evans or somebody else a chance at this rate.

What’s the alternative?

Marti clearly isn’t working… the players clearly aren’t buying into him and clearly aren’t clicking with him.

So I don’t see the point of sticking with him. We may as well let King have it. There’s too many red flags with Marti, and those red flags are costing us dearly….

Yes we’re a complete mess, but man for man are Blackburn better than us? No. Marti clearly isn’t instilling enough into this squad…..  he still needs to go, just so we can somehow bring in someone that will prevent this lot from getting relegated.

Before today we have played well at times.

The squad needs major surgery.

Marti picked James and Ramsey and they have both been two of the better players this season.

Ramsey missing today was absolutely huge for us and it pulled James out of position and meant we had to put soumare in. Soumare who messed up the back pass. The option otherwise was skippy.

We haven't got a striker and the Carranza loan looks to have not worked out but 2/3 loans working well isn't bad

The squad is just too poor. An injury of two like Ramsey and we end up in a situation like today.

Its an almighty mess caused by the board over several seasons.

We could sack Marti but I just cannot see another manager improving us at this point.

This is going to continue and be painful for another 3 to 4 windows untill we can clear the decks.

We just have to trust someone enough with the process when the results are bad.

Is Marti up to it. I just don't know. Is any manger?

This is exactly my take on things.

Trouble is, even if Marti goes, the same spineless players and clueless DofF and owner remain.

Best case seems that we scrape over the line, retain our Championship status, get rid of the players who want out and build up from there - probably with another new gaffer. But any (eventual) success will likely be inspite of the Board,  not because of it.

What use is there keeping him? He's not going to magically make the players have aggression or desire. That should be standard. The problems are above him but Marti clearly isn't doing anything in spite of that.

Think this is the right way to view it. Would rather not sack any  manager, certainly not so reactively as some would, but I just cannot see how he changes the slide. Therefore, he is simplest, quickest head to take. Next.

I'm sorry, but sacking Marti is not the answer, the issue here is the players. There's no aggression, any form of desire, or dare I say it intensity. Abdel looked absolutely gutted at full time and Marti looked pissed off. He's been dealt a bad hand and can only do so much..... These players need to have a long hard look at themselves. King Power and Rudkin need to go NOW, whilst this squad needs a massive overhaul. We're at our lowest ebb, but I'm Marti in for now!!

Right well seen as sacking the entire playing squad isn't exactly an option let's maybe reconsider and try and get a manager with the slightest hint of competency about him instead

It’s pointless sacking him! We’re not going g up this season. The rot goes much much deeper than the manager. Replacing him won’t do jack! We need a complete overhaul  starting with DoF, scouting, and recruitment.

I won’t hold my breath though, Top hadn’t got a friggin’ clue

I put sack, but only because we can’t sack our players.

So many of our players are crap. They don’t look interested and are slow and weak.

Rudkin and Top are the real issue - they’re not fit to run the club. They’re buying players who are not fit to wear the shirt.

But the only one who will get the instant blame is Marti.

Also worth considering if we sack Marti if the Club has any budget to pay compo for a new gaffer? If not, which you might suspect, is the hope Kingy will be our saviour or that we go for someone like Gary O’Neil or Brussell?

Give him until the break, but certainly start looking for replacements now. Cannot see any improvement coming, and the players are every bit as culpable.

But. Get someone in who can make them work harder/believe/motivate them, or whatever it takes. We cannot replace the players, we must give these players a better mentality, and I cannot see Marti doing that. Sorry Marti, you are only partly to blame, but you likely have to carry this can.

Right. Mavi scores, goals change games, no manager can forsee Winks shot on goal end up in row z. As Pearson used to say, it's fine margins. Is he still available?
