The good old days were only last year, under Enzo. Shameful the decline that has been allowed to take place.

I just watch this on repeat instead of our games now. This was peak of our success.

Dubbed a one trick counter attacking pony yet we passed and pressed with such pace, precision and cohesion quite regularly.

Definite penalty, not given, by the way.

The Mahrez Man city goal is the one I watch, nothing wrong with counter foot ball, and it was a joy to watch us as a counter attacking team, far better than tippy tappy.

LCFC fans in 2025

"he is doing too much pass it pass it pass it!!!"

"why pass forward, pass sideways, build the attack"

"pass side ways, wait for the opening".

At least we’ve had some good old days. The absolute ceiling for many is a Bournemouth or a Brighton - ie win **** all. We’ve won it all domestically.

We’ll be back. It might take a while, but we’ll be a reasonably consistent top tier side again.

A video with more footage and no music here.

A much better ethos, can see we even against world class opposition when we had the ball we just wanted to get it forward, no pissing about with it.  Just efficient use of the ball.

If that had been scored it would have been amongst the greatest team goals of all time.

Funny thing is this is the sort of football the top teams are playing now… whilst we carry on with possession ball lol

Even now watching a Leicester City team do that is spine tingling.

Here’s the good old days ;

Kingy , Wellens, Gally, Howard, Dyer, Waghorn amongst others

From L1 winners to play-offs

Nowhere near as much ‘quality on paper’ as these current lot but every week you felt proud of the effort they put in to represent the club!

Some great goals, games and moments!

Ironically that team probably win this league today. 2009-10 season was a very tough championship season, as Newcastle still had some top players, West Brom were quite force under Di Matteo, Cardiff had some decent players, Forest as well that year. Blackpool of course being the surprise package of the year. 5th in the championship that year was a great achievement. I felt we lost our way when Matty Fryatt had that freak jaw injury, he was out about six weeks and those six weeks the goals just dried up.

The fight, togetherness.. speed.. closing down. oh well.

But this is what the owner wants and has built since . That’s what Pearson built. We’re never going back. And week by week it’s getting to the stage for me, of not wanting to go back either.

There’s gonna be people in future years who never watched this match in full but no exaggeration we could / should have won that 6 or 7 nil.

Just watched greatest goals on you tube. Watch it and remember those days. They are never going to be taken away. It is sad how far we have fallen but I would not swap what we have achieved for anything in a footballing sense.

To be fair 2024 under Enzo was nothing special, the first half of the season was a lot more convincing.

Can keep saying this to yourself as much as you like but it’s a million miles away from the level of coaching you’re watching now.

I'm not saying Enzo's not a much better manager, I'm just saying we weren't amazing under him in 2024, better than we are now but hardly the good old days
