Here you go. A whole outfield worth of strikers past and present, but can any of them oust our currently ineffective frontline?

I've gone with players who have had at least a whole season of being played at least semi-regularly - we've had players so bad that they almost never got selected.

Just a reminder we've had to rely on some real cross within living memory.

But we're they drossier than our current crop?

Bit harsh on scowcroft

Yeah, you're right. I put him in early when I thought I wouldn't remember many. How wrong was I? I've removed him now. If I'd left him in he'd be the obvious choice.

His strike rate wasn't great, but then neither was Shinji's (in fact Daka's is slightly better!), but Shinji created chances for others, mainly Vardy.

Akinbiyi had a decent first season. Daka scored several in Europe and in the promotion season two years ago. Benjamin had a great run at the end of the season one year.

Hayles wasn't really a first choice, nor Vassell. I don't think he's the worst but I cannot stand the way Ayew plays.

Akinbyi did scrape about 10 goals in his first season at Prem level from memory.

Akibbyi isn't actually a bad Championship striker at all which is more than can be said of the rest of them, not sure I'd class Vassel as an out and out center forward hence why I didn't vote for him despite the fact he's probably the best player up there.

How has Beckford got so many votes? Spent more time on his arse than his feet.

imagine him bringing out the "weak people feel pressure" line in the current environment

Vassell was free and relatively handy for 18 months or whatever it was, feels harsh he's on this, played wide a fair bit too. Of that list only he and Campbell have managed double figures in a PL season (both away from us, obviously) and he's the best player out of that lot.

Beckford scoring a hat trick against Forest deserves a pint in the fazzyfox pint allocation system but I’ve gone for Vassell, we didn’t get the prime Villa-era version but neat, tidy, linked up with Yakubu, that team with Curtis Davies and Kyle Naughton seemed good on paper….not quite so good on grass unfortunately.
