This was very much my feeling after Stoke but can't agree tonight. I'm so loathed to use this sentence with the history of it but I think if we play like that we'll be OK.

I said that during the second half and then remembered..

It looks like Rowett has given the players a bit of a shaking (to put it politely) and finally got them putting in effort and playing for the shirt.

Not having a proper confident striker is killing us. We would have scored today with someone like, I don't know, a Vardy

Even a Bamford or Szmodics would be capable.

After Skipp diverted a ball away late in stoppage time, the camera lingered on him for about ten seconds… he looked completely, utterly, absolutely and totally done for.

He put a shift in. And that’s what we need right now. Effort.

I really like him

Much better organisation. Ricardo's best game for a while, Nelson was really good, Winks and Skipp put in a shift, Daka worked hard. Get Lascelles fit so he can play once a week and we stand a chance

JJ comes in for Skipp right now.

No way can you drop Skipp. He’s been really good all season

could you play Mukasa or JJ as a false number 9?

It's very annoying. Reminds me of how you're not allowed to say "too good to go down" when many teams simply are too good to go down.

I do believe it to be true. Even the goal we did concede was an error rather than anything structural.

Rowett's nothing fancy but I heard something on NTT20 in the summer about how he's only let in 2+ in about a third of his games as a manager and I can see why after tonight. I think they've stumbled on the right bloke here.

decent result that, hate the fact once again its our own mistake that cost us a goal

but nice to see some fight/organisation etc in our performances

Mukasa ideally and agree.

Oxford are rubbish and sre going down. Much rather oxford win.

Oxford winning is certainly the lesser of two evils.

Yes, we've waited too long getting him in.

They proved me wrong. At half-time I said 3 or 4-1.

As others have said Skipp and Winks excellent. Definitely more fight from everyone.

Okoli and Thomas on the ball scare me to death, so we need to replace them when we can.

Was a bit worried in what I saw from Aribo in that brief spell. He was on for tracking back, and didn't.

All in all though, happy with that.

Agreed. It was only mavidi Ayew and haribo who I felt weren’t quite at the party. Mukasa is some talent. Might rub off on the likes of page and manga. To be fair to Rowett he probably has to watch their minutes given the big game on Saturday.

Everyone is aware,, you don't have to mention it every single post!!!!

Have I already mentioned that we haven't kept a clean sheet in 28 consecutive league matches?

In terms of his crap performances over the season... ?

That doesn't answer my question lol

He was totally fine tonight, in fact barely put a foot wrong. He has been poor overall, but can't fault him for anything tonight.

I suggested this a few days ago and was laughed at.

Striker is the most ineffective position we have at the moment. Having a false 9 or 2 10's would probably be more useful. Or at worst, equally as effective as our current options.

I think he’ll play as a 10 and either Mukasa plays as a false 9 instead or Daka or on the left instead of Mav.

He will have to wait his turn if these three keep performing. Great player to bring on.

Bench will be very strong when JJ, Ramsey, Lascelles and Vestergaard are back.
