Still no credible rumours. Darren Ferguson still bookies' favourite off the back of one weird online article based on congecture :D

I know seasons are still going on, but it's been 3 weeks since we got relegated (and longer since it became inevitable).

Maybe I'm being harsh but it feels like the club are more focused on '10 years on' PR than actually sorting out the shit they've created.

New boss needs to be in asap to work with whatever donut does the transfers (we don't need more defenders who can 'break the lines' but can't defend), sort out the training debacle and prepare for a massive season.

We are League 1 now, lower your expectations. I remember people saying they didn't want Moyes when we were fighting relegation in the Premier League - if only.

Rob Edwards? Fallen out with Wolves fans and what a handsome man too.

Terrible manager, Luton’s promotion was a fluke

It's bollocks. I have it on good authority that he's happy at Lincoln and isn't leaving them. Not for Bristol City or anyone... Let's move on from this one!

I thought so at first but apparently it just means that Bristol are willing to meet the clause—it does not mean that Skubala is going there or wants to. Less of a story than I first thought.

Yeah apparently he's one of four on the shortlist for them. One thing to note though is that he's close to and has worked with the guy who is going to be their new Sporting Director, so could have legs.

Most Bristol City fans seem to think that Mousinho is on his way there though, so who knows.

Oh the club are absolutely focused on the 10 year thing.  Top and Rudkin are going to toss it off celebrating the past whilst fires burn all around them. Absolutely nothing will be happening here until after Top has had his day of memories with Thai influencers and Rudkin has come back from his annual cruise mid July.

If Bristol can tempt Skubala while we can’t we really are f***ed regardless of temporarily being in a league below them.

Sickening.

It’s frustrating and given past history it’s no wonder fans are speculating and concerned that we will fall into the same trap of last season, floundering around and waiting until it’s far too late to make the appointment, or it could be as simple as our main target(s) are employed and their seasons are not yet finished.

Yep true, but they could ease that by releasing a statement “We are currently in discussions with candidates for the permanent manager position. We understand that fans are eager for clarity and will provide an update as soon as possible.”

i know it means nothing but radio silence is strange. It’s not just the manager stuff. Ayew and daka will be leaving etc… but no retained list.

I don’t think any club issues regular updates on their manager searches until they’ve actually got some news. Remaining silent until an appointment is made is the norm.

A handful of clubs have already published their retained lists but the large majority haven’t. We never publish this early. Last year we published ours on 28 May; in 2024, it was 10 June.

We’re all impatient to get last season’s absolute shit show out of our system and move on, hence the desperation for any news that indicates the club is moving forward. But the ‘radio silence’ from the club is not particularly strange—it’s standard procedure at this time of year.

You are right of course but I think as a football club they have found themselves in a mess with everything and everyone. Just feel that they could do something to ease fears, after the mess they’ve made. Though that would mean acknowledging the mess they made.

It’s not the lack of info coming out of the club themselves but through journalists and leaks.

I used to think we get nothing because they’re tight lipped and secretive, now I think it’s because nothing is actually going on.

I don’t mean to be personal but you’ve always been quite deferential to the club despite plummeting through the leagues

Which part of my post was untrue? The club is very tight-lipped—only two or three journalists ever get scoops on us, which is probably less than most clubs.

I regard the club as a shambolic mess that has been mismanaged to a degree never previously witnessed in football. But the lack of idle media gossip about our new manager and the fact that—like most clubs—we haven’t published our retained list yet do not provide further evidence of this. And we don’t exactly need any further evidence, anyway…

Nathan Jones is weird but tbf he did all the work. Should have stayed and took Luton to the PL himself.

I feel like Rudkin thinks he's on par with the players you know. Season ends and in his head he thinks that's it, works done until pre-season starts. I genuinely think he's goes on holiday when the players do and doesn't do any work until June now.

It's impressive that the club always manages to talk to individuals and agents that are as equally tight lipped as them...

These clowns have such a bad reputation in the world of football it’s becoming apparent that nobody will want to manage us. Toxicity is an understatement

Yep, said it before. There's not an infinite pool of managers. Rudkin's reputation proceeds him, most managers with a brain wouldn't come near us until him and King Power are gone.

I didn't intimate you were saying untrue things.

Nothing comes out, not because the process is watertight and the modus operandi is shrouded in secrecy but because there's nothing to report or leak, they dither, dally, procrastinate. If they were active leaks would happen, because there's two or even three parried involved and gossip seeps through those others too.

That’s why I laugh when names like Rohl,MON,Skubala are being thrown about as if they’d come to this sespit
