he won't be, took us a while to say Dean Smith won't be coming back

I believe Dean smith was reinterviewed or in consideration originally.

It’s just absolutely essential that whoever it is is here early so we can get actually give someone a fair crack at shaping a squad. The preparation last summer was the worst it’s ever been at the club

You can forget the early bit .... totally out their thinking..... why give someone the chance to settle in and make plans and get in some new faces, tactics, build a squad to gel ..... when you can make the poor bastard that gets the job suffer and watch him struggle

Probably about right knowing this lot . Anyway those polo ponies won’t ride themselves - no interest in any more footy stuff with holidays to plan

The source of the Darren Ferguson story appears to be the SportsBoom website, which published a story last week claiming that the club has “made contact’” with Ferguson about the role. SportsBoom is heavily linked with the betting industry—on its own pages it says that it “earns commission through affiliate links” to betting operators. In other words, its business model is tied to generating betting traffic and engagement around markets such as “next Leicester manager”.

The story has now been dutifully trotted out across other media outlets, but most seem to shy away from the claim that we’ve actually spoken to Ferguson. TalkSport—which also coincidentally has a betting site —claims that Ferguson “has been mooted” as a potential candidate, which just means that somebody somewhere unconnected to the club has raised it as a possibility. It seems they’ve then spoken to Ferguson or his agent and been told that he’d be “open” to it if offered, which does not sound like the kind of language somebody would use if they actually in talks about the job.

No credible journalists with a track record of breaking Leicester-related stories have bothered to pick up the story. I suggest there is a good reason for that.

One thing King Power have shown us is  after last few appointments is that whoever anybody thinks on here it will be  that it definitely won’t be and be a curveball that nobody was thinking or wanted and then we will all hope he’s the new messiah until we fail miserably AGAIN.

Sean Dyche, he’s yer man…

We didn’t get him/he didn’t want it when we were in the premiership or championship.
In what world is he going to want to join us in league 1?

It’s Rudders that shapes the squad, not the manager :scarf:

I don't know. Everyone was pretty sure it was going to be Gary Rowett about four weeks before the board realised that literally nobody else wanted the job.

And that's why he will probably keep the job ..... its not a very attractive position for someone who thinks and speaks for themself....

Had a horrible thought, was McCarron and Liam Manning at Lommel SK at the same time?

No Manning left for MK Dons in 2021, McCarron joined two months later.
