I wasn’t completely sold by Quansah starting and in hindsight yes it was probably a mistake, but I think Tuchel had a very good managerial performance tonight. He took off the right players and set us up to get over the line. 
 

Spence coming on was a surprise to quite a few however what the cameras only showed briefly is there was a moment where O’Reilly was walking next to one of the Mexico players and the guy said something to him and O’Reilly threw an elbow towards his face, it didn’t connect but that’s the sort of thing Tuchel spotted and took him off immediately. 
 

Overall a great performance, we controlled the circumstances when we had 11 players and we kept taking advantage of easy fouls, then after the red we dug deep and made ourselves hard to beat. 
 

This is probably the most impressive performance of any of the top teams that I’ve seen.

Questions make over the defence but that’s as good as a defensive performance you’ll see with 10 men. Both their goals came from set pieces.
