He goes where the money is at this stage of his career He isn’t coming to sit on a bench in league 1 and he isn’t going to be on big money - we don’t have it - he will be on lower champ wages which is peanuts compared to the rest of our muppets

But he’s a sure fire League 1 hit who isn’t prone to injury, doesn’t have question marks about his age, his durability or the suggestion of overpaying him on his wages. Hence the point. Wednesday going for youngsters with room for improvement at a lower risk of failure compared to Leicester going for hoping to eek a final season out of player who has very bad knees and no ability to play for much longer I would say Barry is very injury prone tbf - worse than Ings over the last few years Edited 9 July by moore_94 2
oldbluefox Posted 9 July Posted 9 July Hopefully as well as what he may provide on the pitch he will be able to help along some of our younger strikers. 1

blueharmie Posted 9 July Posted 9 July Prove me wrong but this fella is after a pay day. We need youth and ambition not a journey man. If this goes wrong we are in the shit

Never under estimate the clowns running the club. He was on a wedge at West Ham, Sheff Utd pay some of the highest wages in the Championship. He’ll be on 20-30k 100 percent Edited 9 July by South Shire Fox 1

jimmy7587 Posted 9 July Posted 9 July I can see the point that he hasn’t scored over 10 in a season for a number of seasons, but with service and playing the right level he might do alright. Much better option than Ayew and Daka. I am trying to find the positives! Looking forward to seeing who else we bring in. Said optimistically that we will bring more in!

It'd be stupid to pay someone of his ilk the salary that he was reported to be on at Villa whilst in the division we're in. I do however agree that the Ings signing, unless he's on a small wage, is probably incredibly stupid, however it is only a 1 year deal.
FoxTalkFox Posted 9 July Posted 9 July (edited) Don't think I can ever forgive him for acting like a complete pr!ck when celebrating after he scored against us for Southampton a few seasons ago. Edited 9 July by FoxTalkFox

Leicesterpool Posted 9 July Posted 9 July Billy Sharp might be set to join him, which could be a very old strong partnership
foxile5 Posted 9 July Posted 9 July In a rare moment of positivity - this is a sensible signing. He'll cost nowt, really, when set against the likes of Daka. If he's fit he scores in this division. If he's not, well - we've not lumped tens of millions on him. There's more than a touch of the Cody about him but I'm positive. It breaks away from previous signings where we've been left wondering what the **** we're doing (hello, Oliver Skipp).

Shit. Disregard the last post. I forget that he was another Southampton old boy. Get rid.
CornwallFox Posted 10 July Posted 10 July Ok let's see. He always had a bit of an all round game so even at what isn't a ridiculous age babe he can be useful. I'll hold fire and give him a chance
Popular Post Bluearmyfox28 Posted 10 July Popular Post Posted 10 July People have been crying out for the academy lads to be used this season, whilst also demanding automatic promotion. With the likely outgoings we simply won’t get promoted with a youth side. I would imagine there will be 2/3 of these type signings to guide the younger lads as this squad seriously lacks positive experience. 5
TommyK Posted 10 July Posted 10 July It's just so us and so uninspiring. Gone are the days of data lead recruitment. Agent lead recruitment has lead us to where we are and we don't seem to be changing it ( shocker ) Time to go Top. 2
Tielemans63 Posted 10 July Posted 10 July (edited) The latest in a long line of uninspiring signings. Seems to have been signed on reputation alone, because his stats don't suggest he'll do much. I expect him to be another underwhelming, under-delivering addition. Edited 10 July by Tielemans63 2

Wednesday are subject to an agreed business plan from the EFL, so I can’t see Barry being on anything like he was at Villa and notwithstanding he’s been at Stockport for a couple of years, so probably faced with some realism in terms of his wages while he was on loan
The whole world smiles Posted 10 July Posted 10 July I am not saying our fans are entitled but we are literally the only club in league 1 who's fans would be turning their noses up at signing Danny Ings. 4

Edingleyfox Posted 10 July Posted 10 July It seems so rare these days that Leicester show evidence of scouting and bring someone young and fired up from the lower leagues. Even when we were in the Prem we looked at too many player's towards the end of their careers on big wages. Let’s hope this is just the beginning because I doubt Ings will get through 46 games when he hasn’t been a regular starter for a while
