Noone has resale when their contract is up :)

I get that but what is he going to cost us in wages/bonuses etc? And we will be stuck with him like with Ayew, Daka and others we are stuck with right now. Just smacks of another Rudkin f**k up.

Ignoring the length of contract, if he can find some form he'll be decent enough, along with him and Chaplin both being big parts of that Ipswich side, which you'd hope will help with creating a decent culture for the young lads and any left over senior players from previous years.

Read this as Bez Gurns and panicked we'd signed the Happy Monday's pill head.

Difference is we are rebuilding upward, not downwards, meaning those wages/bonuses etc will be smaller contextually as the contract runs, whereas Ayew/Daka were very definitely on top flight pay. I imagine the plan is have them this year and then next as we transition to the championship again, then move them on prior to their last year, and if worst comes to worst keep them as sub options. It’s a lot more realistic than Ayew/Daka as reserves financially

Where have you been you dirty wizard?

As I went public about, took some time away to write my book on male sexual disfunction. Overwhelmed 75% of FoxesTalk posters read it. Many since Jordan Ayew signed for us my publisher commented on. Wealthy now and wanted to say hi.

No idea. But giving someone a 3 year contract whos had an ACL and will be nearly 35 when his contract is up with no resale value is madness.

Worked alright when we signed Huth..

Quick direct winger who puts crosses in, we simply have to have centre forwards on the way or his signing doesn’t make sense! Bristric and one other striker hopefully incoming still?

wasn’t there an article right at beginning of summer saying we wanted 10 signings, 6 so far, 7 if bristric signs. So would leave 3 more if that article was to be believed. Another striker definitely and then I reckon a centre back or two?

3 year contract to a player thats 32 in November! The club has learnt absolutely nothing has it! Not renewing my season ticket was the best decision I ever made!

Not really is it, his age plays a part in a 3 year deal not being a huge positive

What’s his weekly wage? Do you know or in the dark like everyone else?

Seen someone mention this transfer window has been better than the one going into the PL with Cooper and it's hard to disagree.

On the face of it, it's an outstanding window for a League one campaign. None of these transfers would be appropriate for the Premier League though.

If Sheff Weds had brought Chaplin,Burns,McCarthy, Watson and Cullen in I think we’d all be saying that’s a great league one window for them.

We(Notts) would be under investigation if we'd signed any of those players lol

That's part of the point, none of the PL ones were and I wouldn't trust them to get us up now.

I don't get the negativity around Burns. He was immense for Ipswich in their ascent to the Premier League. The club shop produced artworks on some of his goals. He wasn't a "fan favourite" in the Ayew mould – Burns was much more than that. He won league Player of the Month awards, was the club's player of the season, voted into the League One Team of the Season etc. In the Prem, he was just starting to find his feet when he had his ACL injury.

He's not injury-prone either. Over 7 seasons before his ACL, he hardly missed a game. When he returned for Ipswich last season, McKenna said he was like a new signing. Helped them over the line to return to the Prem.

Absolutely agree that a three-year contract is a year too long. But in the big scheme of things, if he helps get us back into the Championship and then contributes next season, I genuinely don't see an extra 12 months being a problem.
