As already stated it’s pointless while these clowns are here.

Look at our recent history.
Enzo apart no one lasted longer than 6 months.
I don’t know any fans that actually wanted Martin while not my first choice but at least Fuchs would have got the majority on side.
Same imo with Challinor.
Those that say it can’t be any worse than Martin it clearly can.
Just look at Cooper, RVN, Cifuentes and Rowett.

It seems pointless even entertaining the thought of Challinor with these twats in charge but he’s exactly what we need.

Agreed, for me he would be the closest thing to having someone like Pearson back in charge.

Rob Edwards is available and plays the exact opposite to Russell Martin ball. Direct fast attacks uses a back 3 in different formations mainly but not opossed to a back 4 if needed. He also needs wingers and wing backs to make his play work and aggressive in transition.

Do we have the wingbacks required or a squad fit enough for Edwards? I don’t think so.

Can't see any manager/coach of note being interested in our basket case of a club, spiralling down the plughole, with potential new owners in the coming month's. Why risk your reputation and have this one on your CV?

Only a mercenary wanting a quick pay-off would take it on.

Grim.

Surely it's free hit for any new manager now? Challinor or Edwards would enhance their CVs if we got promoted, but if they failed the narrative would be 'it's a basket case of a club'. I don't see what someone like Edwards gains, waiting for Watford or Preston to sack their managers, he would want a go at a bigger club.

JJ can definitely do wing back

Might suit Aluko and McFarlane more as well if there is slightly less expectations on them of the defensive side

I worry about the fitness of our squad and players with our track record since Enzo’s fitness coach went with him.

I'd take any of the rumoured names over Martin.

Five years ago I'd have thought we would be mad to even consider Neil Lennon, but five years ago we didn't have a crap team and an appalling manager.

Edwards or Challinor would be an enormous upgrade. Think I'd go for Edwards because my (potentially unfair) impression is he has more experience working for basket case football clubs, whereas Challinor seems to have been at stable clubs.

Would bite your hands off for either of them.

I doubt most of the squad are fit enough for Sunday morning pub football. The younger lads, they get a pass though.

I think the moment Sheff Weds are slightly adrift they will bring Challinor in.

Wilson is already there ( we were utterly stupid to not bring him in over the last couple years)

Challinor so we can then ruin his record of at least finishing in the playoffs every season he has been a manager

Aside from non league I don't think he's won in the play offs anyway lol Never did with Stockport. Last season they were battered by Bolton.

Any half decent manager like him would have us top 6 this season. I can't (can) believe we are sticking with Martin for so long.

Yeah only won promotion by playoffs 3 times out of 11 attempts (Colwyn Bay, Fylde, Hartlepool)

Does that mean those clapping the team off every week are millennial, second-team-is-Forest Green Rovers, Green voters.

Absolutely ridiculous generalised nonsense.

edit: typo

Think I've probably seen about 3 people ever at the KP that look like green voting forest green fans

TBF we were a basket case of a club when Holloway took over and it didn’t avoid damage to his CV. We also defended well with him in charge.

Preston have only just appointed Graham Alexander so he won’t end up there.
He wouldn’t last long at Watford.
I don’t want Edwards.
I know it’s ridiculous and it’s always said but the next appointment has to be the right one.
Should definitely be Challinor.

No way Edwards goes back to Watford. I wouldn't even want Edwards personally.

Graham Alexander has only just gone to Preston. Can't see him getting sacked anytime soon.

This is what Chat GTP says about him.

Why Challinor makes sense for Leicester

Former Stockport County manager

Challinor left Stockport in June 2026 after almost five years in charge. He took them from the National League to League One, winning two promotions and establishing a remarkably consistent record of competing near the top of his divisions.

1. He knows how to win promotions

This is the strongest argument in his favour.

Challinor has achieved promotions with Stockport County, Hartlepool United and AFC Fylde, among other successes. His record of reaching the play-offs or better in every full season of his managerial career is particularly impressive.

For Leicester, that matters enormously. The immediate objective shouldn't be to win the possession statistics or build the prettiest team in League One. It should be to get out of the division.

Challinor has repeatedly demonstrated that he can build teams that compete for promotion, rather than simply having a good few months.

2. He could give Leicester a more pragmatic approach

One of the concerns with Russell Martin's football is the risk of becoming too committed to a particular style, even when the players aren't delivering the results.

Challinor's teams have generally been associated with organised, physically competitive football, effective use of the squad and an emphasis on getting results. His preferred formation has been listed as a 3-4-2-1, although a formation alone doesn't tell you everything about a manager's style.

I'd want Leicester to have:

A team capable of winning second balls and competing physically.

More threat from crosses, set pieces and transitions.

A defence that can cope when opponents press aggressively.

The flexibility to win ugly away from home.

Enough technical quality to break down the sides that sit deep against Leicester.

The ideal isn't abandoning good football. It's having more than one way to win a match.

3. He demands standards and accountability

This is an underrated factor.

The Guardian's profile of Challinor highlighted his demanding, old-school approach and his willingness to hold players accountable. His sides have consistently competed for promotion across different clubs and levels of the game.

After consecutive relegations, Leicester need more than tactical adjustments. They need a squad that understands the responsibility of playing for the club.

I would want a manager who can make underperforming players uncomfortable, establish clear standards and create a team that supporters can identify with again.

Challinor looks well suited to that challenge.

I get what you’re saying but it boggles my mind that if Sheffield Wednesday get cut adrift they’ll look at him. Nothing against them as a club but be aware that they are currently 2 points of an automatic spot.

While we piss about not even into double figures and sit fvcking 17th.
Fvcking 17th!!!!!!

How this twat is still at this club is nothing short of disgusting.

We will waste another week with Martin in charge and before you know it Challinor will have gone somewhere else.
