I’ve not told them how to act. I’ve told them to crack on and boo if they want to. So you’re wrong on that point.

I simply asked the question as to how they think it will help the team perform better. From an individual performance perspective I would say booing your own players (even before they’ve kicked a ball) is not likely to help them perform better. If I was an opponent fan or team I would also be encouraged and motivated by an opposition fanbase that is focused on abusing their own players and manager. I’d imagine opposition managers will use it in every pre match team talk.

Who has been booed before they kick a ball.

Well, you've had your answer.

I heavily doubt a professional football manager is going to sit in a dressing room in Oakwell informing his players they don't need to discuss a Gegen press and there 4-2-3-1 formation as they need to save time to discuss how much motivation they can gain from Barry, 54, from Syston, as he likes to give Luck Thomas a good round of boo's just before kick off.

I love this. So it’s toxic now to have an opinion that differs from the simple-minded minority?  People have to ignore the obvious and pander to those who disagree with them?  Wow.

I think opinions and viewpoints are important personally. I think those who start threads like this are morons, but they’re perfectly entitled to do so. I’m probably a moron too because I assumed the content of the opening post and I might be wrong.

Colour people, colour is important. Fuch being beige. If there are actually fans of this club who cannot see as we enter a third tragic season for the club, that many fans have simply had enough of the rot, the stupidity and the excuses, well that’s on them. It costs a small fortune to follow and support Leicester and the muck being served up is unacceptable.

That’s my opinion. Other opinions are available.

People are obviously fed up but I'd much rather it was Aiyawatt and Rudkin getting both barrels rather than Martin and the players.

It is a major problem with the club at the moment that there is that much wrong with it you don't really know where to start.

IMO the apparent intention to sell has probably taken the focus off them, along with what are quite clearly failings on the pitch has diverted attenetion in that direction.

But as always they appointed Martin and probably had a hand in the players being bought in so ultimatley, as has been the case for the past five years, the buck does stop with them and they are the main problem and will remain the main problem until they are gone.

Martin and sub-standard players are symptoms, but they're easy targets when things aren't going well on the pitch.

Aitawatt and Rudkin are the cancer. In my opinion, they get disproportionately less abuse aimed in their direction at games- I'd probably agree that announcing intention to sell has taken them out of the firing line but it was the same last season.

Remember though, when people tried to do this, they were shouted down by the ‘we won the league so they are entitled to do what they want to the club’ lot….

Generally booing the team off the pitch must be disheartening for the younger players and those who have put a shift in. Little wonder they are keen to leave as soon as they can. Anger should be directed at the manager and the board now we have got rid of the leeches in the team.  Applaud the team if they have put in the effort and reserve the anger for the tactics which has meant dropped points.

How do we decide who's toxic and who's allowed to say it's shit?

I was there at Moscow and went to all of the games during our salad days so it's not my presence that makes the team shit.

Can I be vocal when it's crap? Who gets to decide that ?

Why do you think they have to help.  You don't believe in any form of protesting?  Just bootlicking?

Where have I said that mate? FYI  I don’t agree with bootlicking and I do believe in protest. I was one of the few that went on the march last season to the KP alongside the BSLBoys and UFS.

I’m just not sure booing specific players, booing the collective team at times and constant negative chanting at a newly appointed manager is a particularly effective protest unless you see the team failing as the ultimate end goal of the protest but that’s my opinion. I also don’t think booing the players and chanting negative songs about the manager is an action you have to perform to prove you aren’t a bootlicker but again that’s my opinion.

Just imagine faes getting the ball and being booed from the off some fans must have a brain the size of a pea. Boo at full time or even half time if you like but not while we’re winning or from the off. At full time there was young ones kicking and snapping seats one hit my lad l felt like switching his lights off but I just couldn’t do it with him there. Grow the fvck up or don’t come.

I'm sorry that your lad had to experience that and that shouldn't be tolerated at all. I was sat right behind the goal and someone threw what looked to be a lighter at their keeper.

In regards to the Faes comment though he deserves what he gets, he's been vocal about not wanting to be here yet happy to collect his wage from us. Sums up the recruitment of this club over the past 4/5 years what with winks etc.

Anyway I do think a lot of the booing is for Martin, Top and Rudkin and the mess we are in.

Personally thought the younger players did well, Alves and Braybrooke but the game management from Martin was very poor.

It does seem like there is certainly a segment of fans now who are far more invested in them being right about how bad things are that they are completely unwilling to give any credit for anything the club or Martin do right until the club is sold and Martin is sacked.

You can still want the club to be sold whilst giving them credit for getting as many of the bad eggs gone as they managed to do this summer. Same with Martin, I didn't want him, I don't like his style but the faith he's shown in the young lads has been a breath of fresh air and they have been some of our better players.

For some in the fanbase now no matter how many games we won in a row as soon as we didn't win they'd be calling for Martin's head again.

The same people that are constantly demanding players go forward all the time are also the first to moan if the aggressive forward pass doesn't come off and we lose possession, I don't see how they can be enjoying going.

OP makes a really valid point, tbf.

After all, supporting the players and allowing them to perform to the standard they have has seen successes of *checks notes* getting relegated back to back to League One.

I’m not sure on this. Let’s be honest, we haven’t had chance to see have we?

I think that people would be accepting of a draw away at Barnsley in other circumstances. Win at home and draw away on average right? If we had been winning more than 2 in 7, which is an awful return for this club at this level, and it has been a draw following a few wins and not in the context of playing 10 men for 65 minutes and sitting in the bottom half, I do believe people would have accepted that result.

Genuine Questions

Why spend money going to an away game if your entire experience is going to be relentlessly negative, while also making it miserable for people sitting around you?

Was in the stands yesterday for my first away game in a while, the people behind me blaring out “Leicester are going down with Russell Martin” every five minutes, or the “we lost last week, we lost today” chant, and Reid, Thomas, Watson and Burns getting abuse every time they touched the ball.

Ok look for something to moan about, fair enough. Have a bit of frustration, fair enough,  but deliberately creating a miserable atmosphere for the people around you is just pathetic.

If all you want to do is abuse our own players and ruin the experience for everyone else, don't go. Stay at home.

First away game in a while……..

You should learn very quickly that away games are attended by the die hard fans,

who go up and down the country and are entitled to give there opinion,

just because you don’t agree with it,

doesn’t mean you a right,

my advise is if u want to be positive,

don’t post this nonsense on here,

as what was once the minority or now the majority

If we have reached the point where any loss, any goal conceded, any misplaced pass, any draw, any team selection you don’t agree with, is met with massive boos and outrage then booing has lost its meaning.

There is a time and a place for outrage. Before kickoff isn’t it. Doing it over this many years has also turned the club into an unpleasant and toxic place to be - and that’s on the fans,  it’s not all Rudkin’s fault as much as I dislike him.

We can all agree at how badly the club is run, is managed, how we dislike some players. We can all have a moan. But it’s reached a point where our fans are almost a parody of themselves. Even if Martin went on a 10 game unbeaten run you’d still be booing the next goal we conceded.

That tells you just about all you need to know.

Agreed Top and Rudkin deserve it.

But let's face it Martin is and never will be Leicester city material. We do not tolerate

Bull shitters.

I've seen all sorts of nonsense about this all season and it's simple, it's freedom of speech. Me personally, I just can't be arsed booing another set of players because honestly we asked for a squad reset and we got 95% of the problems shipped out. If there's an issue with the manager - results-wise, not just with him being a bit of a cock - the club will act because if we're nowhere near promotion the financial impact is huge. I don't see any point, beyond my moans here and online, wasting energy booing or barracking because I have very little energy for this level of football anyway. The standard is dross, the atmosphere is somehow even worse and booing will just make me regret renewing even more.

Only thing I would say is some of the Watson stick this weekend has been well OTT. He's a young kid and if he's not good enough, fine but we've seen this movie before. Maybe he doesn't fit in with Martin-ball or the move is too much or whatever but he's had a handful of mainly sub appearances. Let's maybe focus on some of the real issues rather than a struggling kid. There's plenty of time for him to come good.

Same as in any walk of life mate, you can choose what you do, how you behave and where you do it but it depends whether you mind what the impact on others is.

For what it’s worth, some of the players deserve it but you can’t deny that it won’t make every player play better. You could argue they are professionals and they need to get used to it, and that’s probably fair, But surely we aren’t a club who boo a player 7 games into their city career 😂.

The academy lads actually held back and got a massive positive applause and cheer, as they were the only ones out then.
