Decent players trying to play in a way contrary to their footballing instincts become tentative and slower to react. They will instinctively know that the tactics they have been told to employ aren’t working and become conflicted on and off the ball, overthinking everything and being slow off the mark - delayed responses, conservative decision making, errors of judgment. A good manager allows the individual players to play as close to their instincts as possible, and employs tactical formations that make the best use of their strengths and mitigate individual weakness. A bad manager inflexibly sticks to their plan and tries to force the players to adhere to it no matter what. And you lose. Repeatedly. When this happens, either the manager changes or you change the manager.

Ranieri described exactly the former process when explaining early team/player meetings.

Thank god I spent my afternoon down the Leicester Royal Infirmary instead of trying to watch that shite.

I mowed the lawns instead of watching that shite.

Life in the fast lane.

A predictable yet avoidable first goal.

Two lucky goals which from two awful bits of defending.

Wondering if it’s the least arsed we’ve looked all season.

Just pathetic from start to finish.

Some total moron in the East Stand placing the blame for our team on, and I quote, 'the worst home fans in the country'.

The reason we don't shoot is because of 'those twats in the corner'.

Staggering.

It’s true. If I was in a high intensity football match with the ball at my feet, baring down on goal needing to decide between passing shooting or beating my man, I’d certainly be really focused on a group of fans in the corner!

You should have stayed.  You are witnessing history in the making.  In 142 years we have never been this bad.

Why would it be a joke?

We won the second half and had them run ragged - they were clinging on at the end.

Who's pride has been saved, exactly?
