Watched the first two episodes of Shogun, not knowing anything of it. Flawless.

Reminds me of a crossover between GOT and the last kingdom. Very well made, looking forward to watching the next few.

I want to watch it but not sure I can get past 50% subtitles

Have you seen Inglorious Basterds?

One of my favourite films and that's only 30% English.

Poor Things

Strangest porno I've ever seen.

5/5

It’s the most visually gorgeous portrayal of the awkwardness of humanity - Ruffalo plays comic genius. There is nothing I didn’t adore about this film.

I'm about 2/3 of the way through it right now on Disney+. It's VERY weird.

The fact I'm on my phone during it tells you what I think about it.

Wife walked out halfway through, along with the daughter. They’re idiots.

I got through it all but it's one of those weird films where the director wants to be artsy for the sake of it and the characters are just too weird to be properly engaging. I can't imagine me ever watching it again.

Weird, bizarre, ostentatious, inciteful, visually stunning, niche.

Excellent.

You read this don't you?

So many great movies people haven't seen "because subtitles".

Prefer subtitles to dubbed as you get more of the actual actor's performance in their tone of voice, plus they try to match dubbing to lip movements, which is why you sometimes get weird sentences as they try to shoehorn some words in. lol

I prefer characters to be speaking the language they're supposed to be using rather than some stupid English with ridiculous foreign accent, or like Sean Connery (Russian, Irish-American, Egyptian, Greek, etc, all with a Scottissssh accent.)

Ironically in Shogun though, the characters who are speaking English are actually supposed to be communicating in Portuguese. lol

100% agree. I want to hear the actual actor I'm watching, not some random bloke in a room.

Yeah I know I sound like an imbecile which some say I am and I have watched lots of films with subtitles,  but tv shows are so long and quite often I end up watching in the background's whilst doing a few other things so my attention span is slightly lower on a Tv show than a Film.
