Super_horns Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 2 bronzes today so far. Tom Daley's efforts will get much more attention than the shooter's from the media.

lcfcben76 Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Incredible match in the table tennis, Britains Paul Drinkhall was 3-0 in sets and 10-5 down, saved 7 match points against the number 3 seed I believe now 3-2 down in sets, incredible watch
lcfcben76 Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Just lost it in the end 4-2, absolute inspiration. Never thought I could get so entertained over a table tennis match
EastAnglianFox Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 What the heck happened to the Women's 7's!? Thought they gave Canada a good tonking in the group game. Shame as i thought a couple of them were pretty fit and deserved a bronze for that.

Shame as i thought a couple of them were pretty fit and deserved a bronze for that. They went to pieces in the semi v NZ. Got two players sin binned which is a big chunk of a 7 man(woman) team. Have to say though, first time I've ever watched Sevens (having little interest in egg chasing beyond what I played at school) and actually really enjoyed it. It's like Rugby, but with all the boring shit removed.

purpleronnie Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Must be tough to take when you lose a medal to convicted drug cheat, and it makes it difficult to watch too.

The Railway Man Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 When the commentator said Daley was looking for a vertical entry with no splash I bet!! Does anyone know why the sky always looks cloudy in Brazil despite it being sunny?
ScouseFox Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 kinell archery penalty shoot outs are pretty tight, 5 sets and if it's a draw at the end it's just one arrow to see who wins. no pressure...
Grewks Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Not really performing to the levels we were expecting thus far....hoping we don't run any stories regarding the correlation between poor performances and zika virus worries.
StanSP Posted 9 August 2016 Author Posted 9 August 2016 watched the Table Tennis last night as well. Got so engrossed in Drinkhall's match .

Not going to be like London 2012. Even our strong sports probably won't be as successful..
foxes_rule1978 Posted 10 August 2016 Posted 10 August 2016 We are actually slightly ahead at this point in comparison to London, however I can't see us achieving that again but I can imagine us getting around 40-50 medals

Exactly If you remember 2012? Or any other Olympics for that matter, you'll remember we never start strongly as the events we good at don't end till the end of this week. We're good at rowing and cycling, we've had next to no cycling and no rowing finals? Murray should do the business in the Tennis, Brownlee should hopefully win the triathlon, and we should pick a fair few boxing medals up, and we have athletes in the track and field you can add golds to the tally. The target is to beat the 19 golds and 47 total medals at Beijing and hopefully we will manage that.
AKCJ Posted 10 August 2016 Posted 10 August 2016 Anyone see the diving pool? Nobody knows what happened but it's turned bright green.

Hope we get a decent amount of golds though.
lgfualol Posted 10 August 2016 Posted 10 August 2016 The footage here in Germany is crap. All I can watch is some lame Germans playing Handball or Hockey. I miss the glorious BBC.

Some rowers who were expected to medal are out, whilst our world champion Canoeist also failed to medal. Thus far we have less medals than expected...so don't insult my sporting knowledge, when you're clearly just generalizing. Edit: Just remembered Giles Scott.....our most dead cert for a goal, disappointing start in the regatta.
