You may be about to spark a debate about how the Champions League should only be contested between each domestic champion, and the runners up(s) shouldn't be in it. Somebody come and get me if it kicks off :D

I can see the logic although it'll never ever happen again. The irony that they call it the 'Champions' League.

I thought Swansea were better than Southampton personally against us. Definitely looked more threatening. I don't remember Southampton having a single chance from inside the box.

Speaking of Champions League qualification... aren't we meant to be in a bit of bother if Juventus win the Champions League? We're in danger of losing our 4th spot. Thank **** for Chelsea in 2012 eh?

If Juve and Napoli/Fiorentina win the CL/EL double then they edge a bit closer, but still not enough to overhaul us. They'd need another equally good season for Italian clubs (ie 5 teams in EL last 16) and a repeat of the English clubs' season for them to take our fourth spot next year.

It's unlikely but yes Chelsea in 2012 and 2013 has bought a little bit more time for the other sides up there.

Anybody remember Jamie Carraghers comments on us after the West Ham game, basically just celebrating a win for the sake of it etc. How silly must he feel now. Lucky we have players who refused to give up unlike him.

And Natalie Sawyer who if I remember correctly said "counting out Leicester who do you think will stay up" when talking to someone on sky sports before the West Ham game.

They should take the last sppt off 4th and give it the FA Cup winners. Simple

Definitely not. Don't get me wrong, winning the FA Cup would be a great achievement, but the possibility of having a Cardiff, or a Portsmouth playing in Europe's premier competition would make a mockery of it. That's what the Europa League is for.

The Champions league should be for the best sides in their respective leagues.

Dunno if this is serious or not but if it is Cambiasso retired in 2011.

As far as I'm aware Cambiasso hasn't retired from international duty. But even so wouldn't you dangle a carrot? Gago is bloody shite.

She can do no wrong though.

You can't really blame them, we'd won four in 29 and were seven points from safety. I was in a similar mindset, just wanted to win a match so I could feel a bit better.

Very few saw this run coming.

Watch a lot of Boca games do you?

what need to happen (if/when) we stay up is a video of all these people saying it followed by us winning games and staying up.. spoof style.

I'm increasingly confident that we'll win the Premier League next season.

My mate asked me if I think we'll lose another game, this season. I replied I don't think we'll lose another game ever!

Brilliant comment from a Hull fan on that article

'Ha ha ha terrible signing great passer of the ball and great in slow italian football but in the fast direct premier league he wont have the legs, the same amount of time to pick out the pass and in the past he has been prone to injury'

lol

In fairness those concerns, particularly pace of the game here vs italy, were being raised by fans on here as well. Lot of humble pie to be eaten by a number of people with regards to Cambiasso.

Ha ha yeah right... History has already been rewritten that he was "poor" before the last 8 games.

And poor in them but carried by Robert Huth, remember. Just think, if we'd signed Huth at the start of the season and signed Cattermole instead of Cambiasso, we'd have won the title no doubt

Jack Grealish turns down Republic of Ireland call-up for two friendles because he "can't make his mind up".

http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/32703107

So he thinks he can feature for England potentially? Well...

Would be the right decision, I never get the reason why some players are born in England but opt to play for another country. It is very difficult to get involved with the England setup but sometimes you have to be patient and in the end it can be worth. He's got better chance in getting success with England than playing for the republic of Ireland. Too early to say if he's good enough for an future in England setup.
